Don't want to know what you would buy, want to know the one thing you wouldn't even give a second of consideration towards when thinking about what to buy. If someone lists something they wouldn't buy, that would be your first consideration for purchase, don't justify why you think is is cool to own it. Just interested in what you aren't interested in.

Me, a boat! The earlier thread on boats reminded me why I don't want to own one. Went out with some friends one time who had a very nice inboard/outboard ski boat. I was bored to death after two hours. If I didn't have such a strong desire to live I would have jumped over board and drowned myself. If you own a boat I'm very happy for you, the industry employs thousands of people for which I'm grateful so don't take it personal.

What wouldn't be on your list?

More lottery tickets.

oldtimes 10-13-2020 07:59 AM

I would not buy a boat or a pool. I wouldn't take them for free.

I'm with you - the villages nice for two weeks then give me seasons, large leaf trees, interesting vistas and "real" people.

Moderator 10-13-2020 09:36 AM

As you would expect, the politically targeted replies have been removed. Please don't further waste your time.

mgkw1 10-13-2020 09:38 AM

I love this question. I've been racking my brain trying to come up with my answer.

I'll get back to you :undecided:

BS Beef 10-13-2020 12:58 PM

Ok, the best I can come up with I wouldn't try to buy my kids happiness. I think you need to be self sufficient to be truly happy.

I really wanted to come up with something clever or funny like....an electric dog polisher.

Also a boat. We were sailors for 22 years, moving up in boat size à la two-feetitus syndrome to 38 feet. We loved being on the water and sailing Lakes Michigan and Huron, the peacefulness of anchoring out and adventure of sailing to new places in terrible weather and too much or not enough wind. But the boat maintenance finally tired us out. Not to mention the physical exertion of the act of sailing. I miss it but sorry, not sorry.

Whooppeee !!!!

If one doesn't like paying US Taxes, maybe one should move back to the UK, and not use the services provided by the taxing authorities in the US. Also if you are in the states for more than 183 days The UK/ US Double tax treaty states you are subject to US Tax, best of luck to you.

Our car buying experience there ended with the manager yelling at us as we refused his offer and walked out the door.
