My front door and shutters are red and they were colors I was offered and chosen from TV when we built our home. I live in that same neighborhood as the two homes and the dark muted shade of red on that garage door will fade quickly with our Florida sun, I also saw the green trim on the other neighbors house, It is a small amount of the trim on the front and the rest of us living here in our area who have to look at it daily ( who I have spoken to) think it looks very nice. Both of these folks that person is speaking about are new residents, lets make them feel welcome . The rest of you should not pass judgement unless you have actualy come by to look at the "examples" she has talked about. I am sure if these new neighbors are on this blog they will be very hurt and it makes us all sound like we are very judgmental....

Note: I live in a patio villa and the rule, I believe, is that house colors must stay the same as when they were built. When I had my roof reshingled, they wouldn't even allow a slightly different shade of color. I was told it must be exactly the same color. Well, I didn't mind, I was just worried that the roofer might show up with the wrong color and make the house look bad. |
Our house is in Gilchrist and sometimes it's hard to pick out your house.
I was thinking about planting a flowering bush to help. I don't mind front doors painted but the garage door? Why would you want that to stand out? |
Just my opinion but I like to see people spruce up their homes with a little color. Loved the one I have seen so far! I don't like houses that blend into one another . We're restricted enough as it is. Let people make their house their home. Aren't there more important things to worry about? We live in a wonderful place, start having fun!
