JerseyGirl,
Congratulations on becoming a Villager! We'll be there soon, too. We love the Cabot Cove and at one time were planning to get one, but we have my husband's mother with us so we had a re-think on that and decided to get a 3 bedroom. Surprisingly the CC fit most of our furniture... it is an amazing little house. You don't see many for resale, so I suppose everyone likes it.

Re: I'M AN OFFICIAL "VILLAGER"

Thanks, y'all, for the warm welcome. I'm actually trying to push my closing up a bit r/t scheduling at work. Maybe like 5/22 now. Will update as that decision is made. Whewwwwwww, much to do, sure hope I can get organized effectively. I have already written down the names/addresses of the consignment places and hope to have time to visit them in May. Any suggestions as to how to get the furniture from the consignment shop to the villa. Only thing I can think of is to rent a small u-haul the day after I find my pieces. That actually sounds like a good plan to me. Russ_Boston: Hope you and your wife have as great a trip as I had. Thanks again to all of your kind thoughts.

Re: I'M AN OFFICIAL "VILLAGER"

Jersygirl, I looked at some of the places for furniture around TV and although it seemed OK, to furnish an entire house would be a challenge. The other problem I had was when I was down there I didn't have time to look. I also had a few things from my Virginia home I wanted there. So I bought everything from craigslist in Virginia, stored it in my garage and then when I finally got everything, I rented a 17 foot u-haul truck and took everything down. If you move your times around on the u-haul site, you get a deal. The 17 foot truck with 60 pads cost me $591. Gas was about $200 and help unloading was $150. I furnished an entire 3 bedroom designer for under $5000. That included new mattresses and box springs from us-mattress.com that were $1000 each, truck and help. And as I bought it all in Virginia, I had a lot more time to look. Around here craigslist adds over 100 listings an hour in furniture on the weekend and there are some real bargins. Even ended up getting a new living room set for my home here. Good luck.

Jersey.

They have just opened an IKEA center in Orlando and they have very inexpensive furniture. We went to the one here yesterday and decided to get a white sofa table and matching square coffee table. They have simple square end tables in colors for $12.99. Now the sofa table and coffee table that we liked were more but you can get really nice BIG dressers for $299. Most of it is contemporary in style. I have a house full of English Regency STYLE (not the real thing) here in Ohio. My rule for decorating in Florida is the three C"s. COMFORTABLE, CHEAP AND CUTESY. Omigosh. I did say that. The picky person has fallen on her sword.

Come to think of it. I think that is the new me.

Hugs.

Bargins nd Treasures, as well as Ayers, deliver. For a fee of course, around $35.00 I think.

Congrats JerseyGirl. How exciting for you. All the best to you from this Jersey Girl. Hope to meet you when we are both full timers. Have fun decorating your new home. I think I'll go to Bargains and Treasures too after all the positive comments about it to see if I can find a few things for our home.
