Identify as a guy. It's working for a lot of people these days (/sarc).

Salon J

Salon J is related to the developers...I go to Mon Ami-just outside of the villages- 3 excellent hair dressers-I go monthly- under $100 for color, cut & styling {WITH TIP}

Husband pays $8 for cut in Wildwood. I pay $120 for color and cut in Colman. Very happy with the results, get lots of compliments

They upsell here....at many places the "stylists" are compensated for selling products. You know when they talk about "levels"....it's when they sell the most (or less) products along with the service. Salon J_____ does that and I'd bet others do too.

My daughter is a hairdresser in Pennington NJ (near Princeton). Haircut and blowout $75. Cut and color upwards of $200. Here I go to Fantastic Sams. Cut $20; wash cut and blowout $35. I don’t color waste of money.

Village Cut

The Village Cut makes pretty women look like pretty men. Just my opinion.

Wow! So glad that my hair hasn't turned gray....I'm not joking! I have dark auburn hair and so far I only have a few white ones interspersed that unless I point them out no one sees. I wait to get it trimmed until it is really bugging me. $19 with tip at Great Clips.

P.S. In case you are wondering, I just turned 72.

Shave it all and wear a wig. You get to pick and change styles, cuts, colors, lengths, textures. Get a few of them and switch them out with your moods. Two wigs at under $200 for the pair at Ace Wigs (dot) com are good for 2 years if I take good care of them. Shampoo, conditioner, a wig stand, under $50 total and will last you longer than the wigs do.

I've actually thought of doing that. I was inspired by Schitt's Creek, and that woman who wore all the wigs. As I get older my hair is getting thinner. My hair is long right now, so I can wear it up for the summer, off my neck, but wigs would be fun.

When I get my hair cut, I say, "Don't give me a menopause haircut." My hair is pure white, and I'm afraid they will think I want that cut.

Go see Kim at Fringe Salon. She doesn’t charge outrageous prices and she’s really good. Both her and my sister go to her.

I have gone to a few places and yes I pay alot more than I did in NH. I have curly hair so I can’t just go into any place because curly hair takes more time and experience. I also color and every other time I include high lites with tip close to 250. I work so going to the school wouldn’t work for me.

Never heard of “The Villages Cut.” What is it?

It is the short hair cut look that many women now have in The Villages. I had it for awhile and got a little bored with it, so now have a short bob.

Triple Digit Heat Index. It's a style that always looks nice, rather than long and straggly. Bobs are nice too!
We all look Maaaarvelous, dispite a previous post about the short cut being "menopausal", which begins at 50....so let's get real, right?
