Default Military benefits

We will be moving to TV from the Fort Bragg, NC, area as soon as our house sells. Right now, we get all our prescriptions filled on base. Does anyone know where we can get our retired benefits' Rx refills, etc. in TV area? Would love to hear from other military retirees.

I am also considering a move to TV in about a year (sooner if the real estate market improves). I have always lived near military bases and am a little concerned about not being able to use all my benefits. I understand that there are some facilities like commissary and exchange services at a naval station in Orlando. Also, for RX you can always use the Tricare mail-in refill program. I understand it works pretty well. Check with your base hospital Tricare office for details.

Yes, there is a place to go in Orlando and Tampa. We use mail order. Most expensive med is $22 for a 3 month supply. Most are $9.00 for 3 month supply. We used Tricare Prime as our heath insurance until we turned 65. ( I turn 65 next month)

There is a VA Clinic in The Villages near the corner of CR 466 and Buena Vista Blvd (SE Corner complex). The clinic is part of the Gainesville VA. There is a limited bus service to Gainesville and all prescriptions are sent from Gainesville.

I had to re-apply for benefits when I moved here last year. The Villages Clinic apparently was maxed out at that time and set me up at the Leesburg Clinic. Both clinics are limited in their capabilities, but I have received authorization to get some tests done locally by doctors who will accept payment from the VA (some don't understand that...).
