If you are going out to the garage to sneak a smoke....might as well do the laundry at the same time.

Default pros and cons

We have an inside laundry in the Bonita CYV model. It is noisy - there's a pocket door, but it's louvered. However, I think you get more space with an inside laundry, particularly the ones that have space on both walls.

We have an extra fridge, a shelf above that and the laundry tub, hooks on both sides of the door (our Villages coat closet), and cabinets above the washer/dryer, plus space (about 9-10 inches, beside the washing machine, for laundry soap, my yoga mat, and a small wastebasket, plus another 9-10 inch shelf with a place to hang clothes (to dry or just hang up fresh from the dryer).

None of that precious garage space is taken up by laundry stuff. I think I wouldn't mind a garage laundry except in the summer, when even 2-1/2 minutes is too long to be in the garage.

We have rented houses with Laundry in and out of the house. My wife and I prefer the laundry in the garage in that both washers and dryers make too much noise when they are being used. We used to wash or dry clothes in the house whenever we were leaving so we did not have to hear the noise. Finally bought a house with the laundry in the garage. Very satisfied.

Default Outside

Much to our surprise we prefer outside. Have had both and we feel outside is better.

If you have an inside laundry and the washer springs a leak while you are not home, you will wish you had garage laundry. An inside laundry leave you open to flooding the whole house.

For those with the laundry in the garage, where do you fold the dried clothes and where do you do the ironing?

Default laundry location

Good thing I have the best wife in the world cause I only do laundry when she travels. I always drop clothes on the floor so if we had garage laundry it would be the end of me...

Also interestingly, I 've read comments concerning noise and heat (summer time) from the dryer regarding inside laundry.

Memphis is hotter than TV in the summer. Our TV room shares the wall with our laundry room. We have a door but we never close it. Noise (we have a nice home theater and we have it turned up) or heat does not bother us.

Anyway we both want inside laundry.

My mom used to iron everything she could lay her hands on. Me...well I can go 2 or 3 weeks before something needs to be ironed. Sorry Mom!

Default Laundry choices

I would have loved to have Grantham (3 brm cyv) however we didn't see any available in our price range that had suitable yard space in a location we liked. So we settled on a Beauregard that had the washer/dryer locate just on the other side of the door from the kitched to the garage. I found it convenient in the rental we had... I hope it will work out for us once we finally get down there!

aljetmet. This is really simple,so pay attention, it won't take long.

I think that your wife deserves the best husband in the world.

Pick up just the dark colored things off the floor and throw them in the washer. Add some Tide. Turn the washer on. Then when the cycle stops, throw them in the dryer for about a half an hour, if they are still damp hang them up. If they are dry hang them up.

Your inner self, your general knowledge and your sex life will improve almost immediately.

Kindest wishes,
Gracie
