As of today, Walmart announced that people everywhere must now wear masks when in their stores.

matandch 07-15-2020 01:22 PM

No shirt , no shoes, NO MASK, NO SERVICE!
Hooray! That’s one small leap for no more spread!

FOX 35 INVESTIGATES: Florida Department of Health says some labs have not reported negative COVID-19 results

333 labs in Florida reported 100% positive tests, zero negatives, this info is on the State's website. This is a fact. The state has acknowledged the problem.

I was just going to post that link.

bares repeating

No matter what number you see, they are all under-reported.

When you have 333 labs report only positive test results, how accurate do you think the state reports on positivity percentages are? Answer: Not very

"Errors" is not equal to "fraud". As has already been discussed in this thread, the labs are not being accused of reporting false positives, merely not reporting the negative tests.

Yes

It definitely affects accuracy of infection rates, but would seem to have no bearing on total number of positive tests. To call this "fraud" is extremely misleading & biased.

Arguing with a strawman again? Please quote me where I said it was fraud. I found out about this before the media was on it and don't need any lectures. Here is what I said in the thread I started about the errors.

There is a problem in that 100s of Florida labs are only reporting positive tests, not negative tests. This doesn't mean the total for positive tests is inaccurate, it means the percentage of positive test they show every day on the dashboard is inaccurate. If you don't report negative tests, your percentage of positives will be higher than it really is.

Should visitors, be given guest passes based on a certified negative COVID test, within 5 days of the request for the pass? There appears to be an uptake in short term rentals, could this be a contributing factor?

The "killer" acronym comes from Cuomo's executive order to put positive tested nursing home victims back into nursing homes. He is responsible for over 6,000 deaths in New York. I wouldn't want him to be dog catcher.

The US is a world-class slow learner due to an inflated sense of self-worth and mistaken confidence. People are starting to get the hint even here in the Villiages. Only survival and self preservation is at stake and will WIN out eventually.

"World-class slow learner due to an inflated sense of self-worth and mistaken confidence" I have not heard it stated quite like that and unfortunately I whole heartedly agree and I ask; When did that happen to US?

Does anyone understand what this poster is asking?

Calm down, I think you may actually be the one arguing with the straw man. Unless of course you can show where I even implied that I was quoting you as having called anything "fraud". Read post #46 again, then you can take what I said in #67 in context.
Interestingly, I actually agreed with your assertion that the rate of positive test results was in error.

Some states, such as Maine, are requiring proof of a negative COVID test within I believe 72 hours or you must quarantine for 14 days if you want to visit there. Actually that may be all states in New England....and New York state at this point has a list of 22 states not allowed to visit.
So, maybe poster is implying that visitors from out of state should prove they are negative for COVID, or they should quarantine on arrival here.
The travel industry is really being affected by this.
