IRMA debris pickup TRACKER
The original poster asked if folks would give a shoutout if they SAW A TRUCK ON THIER STREET, so we could track the progress. 40 comments later, one person saw a truck. I'm interested in tracking this, too, as I've never seen a truck. Can we stay on topic here and just report SIGHTINGS?

This morning, the Hadley gate at Morse and Odel had several trucks picking up debris.
Speaking of Odel Circle......I travel every day from the Hadley gate along Odel to the Mallory mail center area. Most of the gutters and storm drains along this section of the roadway have been cleaned and are pristine. Then there are small sections of the gutter and storm drains that are still littered with storm debris. I'm wondering who is responsible for cleaning the gutters along the roadway. Is it the independent lawn services that are cleaning the gutters? It seems the sections that are littered run along sections that border someone's property. It looks to me like some lawn services clean the gutters when they cut the lawn and other lawn services ignore the debris in the gutters along the roadway. I wonder who is going to clean that debris? It is clogging the storm drains. |
On Buena Vista between Stillwater and Odel today I saw a claw tractor. No trucks. Just looked like he was trying to combine piles.
As for neighborhood cleanup, still haven’t seen a truck. |
The grass will grow back, the horrible stain on your driveway is permanent!

Focusing on the negatives of life is what some people are born doing and can't seem to stop. I have just learned that since moving here almost ten years ago.
I believe now that people can't change and some worry obsessively about almost everything. I feel sad for them. |
Trucks just came by our street at 7:30 this morning. Bridgeport Lake Sumter.
|
I didn't see a truck, but on Wed late afternoon some random piles in DUVAL were gone.

Our lawn company picked up ours so that would not have to worry about it while cutting and trimming the yards.
Good business sense there. They are G & K Lawn Service and More. |
Ashland was picked up today, Thursday. It's getting there!

When we were leaving to go to the airport this past Tuesday, we saw trucks picking up the piles of roadside debris in the far southern portion of TV. Clean-up in the Village of Labelle occurred shortly before that date.

Subject: Administrative Message - Special Notification to All Newsletter Subscribers Date: 10/6/2017 Storm Debris Removal - UPDATED 10/6/2017 The removal of storm debris by FEMA approved contractors is continuing throughout the community. There are currently 20 trucks with trailers and 7 loaders that are working throughout the community to collect storm debris. They are working 7 days per week from 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. The debris hauler will only visit each area one time. If yard debris is placed after the initial collection, it must meet the requirements of your normal yard waste collection. The debris hauler will not return to areas to pick up freshly cut limbs or debris that was not placed roadside when the initial collection took place. If you have additional debris that exceeds the limit that your normal yard waste provider is equipped to handle, it is your responsibility to have it removed. In addition, please DO NOT take your vegetative debris to postal and recreation centers. For those Sumter County residents that wish to drop off debris, a temporary disposal site has been established by Sumter County on CR 528 in Sumterville. The District utilizes two separate drop-off locations where the debris is burned and does not deliver debris to the Sumterville location. We would also like to offer a huge THANK YOU to all residents who are keeping their debris in their yard along the roadway. We truly appreciate your patience and understanding while we continue to collect debris throughout the community. · All residential areas north of CR466 have resumed normal yard waste collection. All yard debris must meet the requirements of your normal yard waste collection. · Debris removal along the major roadways and the recreation facilities north of CR 466 is complete. · VCDD Nos. 9 and 10 have resumed normal yard waste collection. Should there be large amounts of debris/tree limbs/stumps, they will be left and Crowder-Gulf will remove. · Collection will continue through the weekend in VCDD Nos. 5 and 6. It will continue through VCDD Nos. 5 – 8 and VCDD No. 12 from north to south. · Debris removal along major roadways and recreation facilities south of CR 466 is underway. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the District Customer Service Center at (352) 753-4508. :ohdear: Don't sign up! |

Sea Breeze Rec Center parking lot has been cleaned from over 100 Lowes, Ace, Home Depot, Sam's, Wal Mart bags....That should free up some contractors now to tackle the neighborhoods. So where the hell did all these bags come from?? Thank the many that DUMPED their debris....and don't blame it all on the landscapers.

Bonita not started either. Reminds me of our leaf pickup on Long Island. You were lucky if they were done by the first snow storm. One year the snow plow moved them down the road with an early snow storm.
|
Village of Largo had the yard debris picked up today.
|
Still waiting in Pennecamp.
