This is an election year and political signs are allowed. Apparently, this person would prefer a “Write in” candidate.

One of the reasons I love it here is how all the yards look so well kept. I have a friend who is considering moving here just because where he lives is not that way. It gives a great impression of the villages and keeps YOUR home value up.
The deed restrictions say nothing but plants should be in your front yard. Please keep it that way !! Once the door is opened to an exception, Pandora’s box will be opened and voila, trailer park, because not everyone has good taste. |

Surely in 2020 you can find bigger annoyances to complain about.....

Everybody has an opinion. Problem is when your opinion is the only right opinion. Life is short.

I have not seen Jesus 2020 signs but white crosses on my street like 6 of them. They are not big , just like putting a turtle or bird statue in your yard but you don’t like white crosses, it’s choice. You would not like whole Village area I live in. Many yard statues on everyone yard.

Missing the Point
You are missing the point. It is not the cross's it is the creeping moves to override the Deed Restrictions and the question is then " WHERE DOES IT STOP". I have actually no sympathy for the residents who decide to try to destroy the Deed Restrictions they signed up for when they purchased in The Villages. The same ones who have cross's in the yard are the ones who "Lied" when they signed off on their Deed Restrictions commitment's. Kind of ironic??

I think they are totally inappropriate, not everyone who lives in The Villages are Christians. I am a non Christian and I find that stuff offensive.
I don’t understand why they think it is so important to display their religious views. I guess they think it makes them a better “Christian” by sticking their religious stuff out in the yard. Be whatever you want to be, but keep it to yourself. |

They are an expression of a persons belief. After all we have been thru during this epidemic people need something to hold on to. That is Faith that times will change for the better. Don’t take that away by filing a complaint. Just drive by and be thankful for another day.

Obey the rules, what is so hard about that? If signs are not allowed, do not put them up. If you want to do that, move to a place that allows it.

Again, please stay on topic. It's Jesus 2020 yard signs, not white crosses, their meaning, or one's personal religious beliefs. Posts have been removed and infractions given. Thanks.

Rules are rules... You sign a contract with The Villages accepting that you will adhere to the deed restrictions. But then you **** and moan that you have a right to do what you want. Big cry babies that refuse to follow the rules and then get butt hurt when people call you out on them, is the epitome of entitled old fops. Apparently rules and laws only apply to other people. We paid to live in a deed restricted beautiful community. Follow the rules or move. What is wrong with you people... And you complain about millennials! Now I understand why the term boomers is derogatory!
IT'S NOT ROCKET SCIENCE...FOLLOW THE RULES/DEED RESTRICTIONS YOU AGREED TO! Last edited by saywhat; 10-13-2020 at 10:00 AM. |

"The Jesus 2020 campaign began in May of 2020, soon after the church of Sampey Memorial Baptist Church in Ramer, Ala. reopened its doors after the initial COVID-19 closure. In a discussion during one of their Sunday School meetings, the members decided that they wanted a sign to show that they still believed in God, despite all the negativity in the world right now."
