How do you get a job down there before moving to The Villages? Is it a deterrent to have your out-of-state address on your resume? (what other choice do you have, really?) Have any others gotten a job before moving to TV and what steps did you take to get so lucky?? I'm very aware of the unemployment rate but looking at Leesburg Regional and The Villages Hospital look like they have tons of openings.

Put your address on your resume and use a cover letter to explain your plans to move there. Provide a projected move date and dates you will be in the area for interviews or your willingness to travel there for an interview. Provide when you could start and how you plan to sell, rent, buy so they will know you have a serious plan.

That was very good advice from 12ridehd. Be aware that salaries and benefits are much lower in this part of Florida (and most of Florida) than you may be getting now.

It all depends on what kind of work you do, too. The medical field is good in this area (medical technologists, MRI techs, etc). If that is your area, put your application in with the Department of Veterans Affairs in Gainesville for their new outpatient clinic in The Villages.
