I am glad none of my neighbors are STRs. However, I was glad they were available the 3 times I came down for a week at a time, when my wife and I stayed in a STR, before we bought |
NOTHING is perfect!!! But The Villages is as close as I could ever have hoped for. THANK YOU Morse Family!!!! My wife and I came from Illinois (Cook County, which is always referred to as Crook County, and for a good reason). I feel sorry for all the folks that complain about this paradise, as I know that they will never be happy under any circumstances. They live here because there is nowhere better. Human nature is that we always want more and better, me too, I want better. But I sure as hell am thankful for this wonderful place, THE VILLAGES!!!

I’ll go with Don. He knows more than I will ever know and seems to be even handed. I find it interesting that so many find that in order to have integrity, you must be poor. You need money to run a campaign and, as long as people follow the rules for contribution, they are free to make them to whomever they wish. The developer is rich because we made him rich. Capitalism is a wonderful thing.

Over 10,000 new homes added to the Sumter County property tax base the past 3 years alone means $60 million of additional real estate taxes per year. This tax revenue is compounding at a rate over $18 million per year for residential property's alone and is why taxes have stayed relatively low relative to other counties. Then there's the 15,000+ jobs. The new roads are used by and benefit all of people in Sumter County. You can probably estimate better than I but it seems currently over 80% of the traffic in the expansion area is from people not living in the Villages. |

Probably 80% of the traffic on MBT is during the "rush" hours. More especially when the schools are open. Majority of the traffic is clearly workers, construction & commercial vehicles, taking children to and from the charter schools, etc. Another sign of the impact is a significant percentage of customers seen at Magnolia Plaza are younger people. The expansion serves the entire community. Besides, we all know a very low percentage of the "northern Village people come down south ;-) |
