Also, back "home" there most likely is not a forum like this where folks post about incidents.
I am reminded of this fact (by my better half) all the time.
However, one thing that I do personally see here in TV is the grouchies in the restaurants complaining. (I know off subject) but......I don't understand why so many aren't considerate to wait staff. It's as if the service people are beneath everyone and the old grouches can treat them poorly......HATE to see this.

As it worked out, I had to to wait longer to get my business done, but I was told I was rude. I made sure to offer her a great day for getting done a few minutes earlier than me, the rude one!

It would be aggravating to wait for the next open lane and have someone scoot in ahead of you in a golf cart...however, she had no right to say anything at all to you. It isn't an option to hang back to choose the next open lane, but I think it should be set up that way. Sorry someone was hateful to you.

No one had a right to do and say that to you even if you were at fault, which you weren't. They did not have the right to do that. Another point I want to make is that someone replied that you shouldn't have gone to their car. In TV you should be able to go to a car thinking it is surely someone you know...why wouldn't you think that? Sorry this happened. ridiculous. Probably someone with zero power anywhere else looking to prove something...

I just do not understand people. I had some guy yell out his window at me saying, "What are you, a re-tard or something?" Okay, so I don't understand the round-a-bouts as well as I should, but I'm new here and his outburst really burned my cookies. I mouthed to him, "I'm sorry" but he must have thought I said something else and proceeded to give me the finger all the way to Morse Blvd./466A. Gee whiz.

He has the problem obviously.

Just before you enter each rotary you will see a directional sign noting the correct usage of each lane. The are not always the same at each rotary so it takes awhile to learn which lane to use fit the rotary exit you plan to take. Go out and drive through a few to see what I mean.

By the way, all bets are off once our seasonal residents are here. As a general rule I try to avoid roads and rotaries north if 466 in season. Good luck; there's little you can do to correct the behavior if an idiot.

I had pulled into the Publix parking lot at Colony and went thru one space into another to where our cart was facing in the wrong direction, but was still well within the space. I went in to grab a couple items while she stayed behind sitting in the cart. When I came out she told me to hurry and leave. As we headed home I could tell she was visibly shaken and she started to tell me that while she was sitting in the cart, a man in his 60s pulled up and parked next to our golf cart and started shouting the worst obscenities! He was screaming and cursing about the way the golf cart was parked and throwing up his arms.
What the hell did he think you did wrong? If you weren't taking up more than half the space (and it doesn't sound like it because he was able to park next to you) what difference does it make which way your cart was facing? People back their cars and trucks into parking spaces all the time. I'm genuinely confused.

Don't ever mouth "I'm sorry." Encountering a road-rage nut case means never having to say you're sorry.

Absolutely, sunnyatlast. You're probably right, we know not to take it that far here because who knows what would happen.

So a lout was OUTRAGED that you slowed down to allow for traffic.
Imagine the horrors of losing 1/8 second from his busy schedule. His time is so meticulously allocated that he decided to tailgate and follow you home.
But this is irrational as the 1/8 second lost will never be regained. Compounding this was the delay caused by the unplanned detour.

Perhaps he overmedicated himself or IS not of sound mind. BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR A LARGE FAIRLY UGLY MAN IN A GRAYISH MINIVAN.

TV is the friendliest place we've lived but it is home to a whole lot of angry people. You can see it in the stores, especially the grocery stores, when people are impatiently trying to push their way through a crowded store, and on the roads. I try to tell myself that these cretins must have health or money problems or perhaps a sick or disabled spouse. I think a lot of the anger is caused by being separated from family and friends back home. Even though folks like it here, they miss what they left behind. Whatever the cause, most of us learn at a very young age not to react with anger to every inconvenience. I had a relative who said old folks usually get old and childish but some get old and hellish. I guess that happens in TV a lot.

If I may look at the anger in stores from another perspective....shopper #1 isn't on any sort of schedule which means they lallygag in the grocery isles perhaps stopping to talk to another shopper. In comes shopper # 2 who is just trying to get the job done because they have other things to do. Shopper #1 is slowly walking through the isles making it difficult for shopper # 2 to get his groceries and get out. Now add shoppers 3-300. These shoppers just fought for a parking space, had trouble getting around Colony plaza to get to the parking space due to the amount of people in this particular area, then some of the 300 shoppers wait in line for the deli, have to try to navigate the narrow isles where people are standing in the middle chatting, and then they all rush to the checkout at once where there are people on the "10 item or less" line with 15 items. I expect with all of this going on, there is going to be some lost tempers both in and out of the grocery store. It doesn't make it right but it could explain some of the angry people.

If someone was following me
I would not have went to my home first of all..
I wouldn't have approached the vehicle also , as others have stated also ..that is inviting danger from someone who is already showing signs of impairment ie mental and as for taking the tag number and calling 911 ..I really don't think that will do anything because technically he didn't violate a law.good luck with that idea .but now this unhinged person knows where you live and that isn't a good thing ..people snap in America"s friendliest hometown EVERYDAY...for any reason you can think of..road rage being one of the most common..alcohol abuse being another ..barking dogs..parking spaces .. etc..the list goes on and on..this person was looking for a problem ..let Karma get him ..it will ...turn the other cheek

Happinow, reading your post was almost nostalgic. Except the excessive chatting this scene was every Saturday where I used to live. And add bitter cold and not being able to see the parking spot lines through the snow or ice for a portion of the year. But strangely enough there were few altercations as we all had resolved ourselves to this fact of life.

Throw in:

Sitting thru the green light at the intersection because the driver in front of you can no longer see as well as other drivers, and the driver that can not read the signs while driving thru a round about (should these drivers really be driving anymore?).

Don't forget the times you stood in line for what seems to be eternity at the self check out (intended to be used as a way to save time as opposed to the "relationship building" lane with the cashier!) as the people in front of you can't figure out how to scan products or operate the machine (I am wondering if they should require a training class prior to using, never mind they would probably forget what was taught...)

As aggravating as all that can be sometimes, it does not justify the behavior of the guy following a lady home or yelling obscenities at a lady sitting in a cart. Do those guys a favor = call the police, let them realize the errors in their judgement and hopefully change their ways.

When you really think about it. . .

Grocery stores. Parking lots. Restaurants. Traffic. Seats at the squares. Sometimes exercise classes at the rec centers and pools.

Maybe it is all like a great big science experiment where way too many lab rats are shoved into a maze to try to find the cheese -- eventually they will start eating each other.

Just my hypothesis.

Just wait until the seasonal residents return for the winter season, and the population swells to over 100,00!
And wait until the first-time renters start hitting the roundabouts and using the golf courses.
It will be a winter season that tests the patience of Frogs!

Well, if you just sit in your car, fondle your CCL, have your 9 by your side, and have memorized this, then someone else may be backpeddling double time.

Marlinguy, I don't understand the meaning to your post. I don't know what a CCL is but I am guessing that "9" means a nine milimeter fire iron.

I know what stand your ground is, but nothing on this thread would make me think ANYTHING about using a gun.

Please explain so that I won't think that it is a troubling post.

Gracie - it is a troubling post. CCL = concealed carry license
