Does anyone have any more info as to the health of our weatherman Karl Loeper. I know he had a stroke and was taken to Shands Hospital last week..

Sadly reporting that Karl had a major stroke Tuesday, and he is in Intensive Care at Shands. He is expected to remain hospitalized for a while. His wife, Patty, has asked FOR PRAYERS
UPDATES WILL BE PROVIDED HERE AS THEY COME IN.

He suffered a severe stroke on Tuesday and was hospitalized at that time. This news is just getting out - I imagine this has been traumatic and unexpected for Patty and his family. We just got these details and we are trying to spare the family questions - updates orovided here and to THE VILLAGES GROUP on Facebook.

Having lived through a stroke experience with my loved one I can't imagine what Patty is going through. We were only transported to our local hospital but to be a hour-plus away from familiarity must be difficult. It's shocking for sure when this happens as it's sudden and a grieving does take place even in it's "best" outcomes. I will be praying for Patty, their family as well as Karl....and the health-care providers to have clarity of mind on exactly what to do for him.

Terrible news and prayers absolutely will be sent for Karl and family, such a gentleman. It must have been Monday or Tuesday morning when I saw him in Panera early - he was on radio break. Very humble, respectable person.

Karl has had difficulty breathing so they are putting him on a ventilator.

Son here. He's had another bad stroke which he is not able to recover from. He's currently at a hospice.
