Default Kitchen Stoves

We're trying to figure out what basic model electric stove comes in the new designer homes. Does it have a self cleaning oven? We were in Lowes this afternoon trying to figure out what the new stove will look like.
Thanks for any info.

I may be wrong about this but I don't think it is possible to purchase a stove anywhere that doesn't have a self cleaning oven. Our patio villa has a very basic stove which was supplied by the builder, and it has a self cleaning oven.

I didn't think so either but we were in Lowes this afternoon and they only had one G.E. stove on display and it didn't have a self-cleaning oven. Must be the absolute bottom level range. Thanks for the info.

I have a designer home that was built last June. The G.E. stove has a glass cooktop and a self-cleaning oven.

Ask your sales person. Or, look at the model homes.

Sales rep rarely returns calls and models are 1200 miles away. That's why I thought a question on the forum would be ok.

We bought and closed in Sept. on a Jasmin 2 Model. We have GE Profile in ours. Stove is Self cleaning, convection oven, Refrig is side by side bottom freezer, Dishwasher is so so, Micro Wave is good. Only complaint I have is we went with Bisque and everytime we use the stove top even to boil water we have to clean the stove top. Guess that's why we eat out so much!

Then you need a new sales rep!

Mine returns my e-mails and/or calls promptly and to my satisfaction.

But you should get the answers you need here as well.

BTW: Do they really make stoves now that AREN'T self cleaning?

Russ, Lowes sells one made by G.E. which isn't self cleaning. I doubt that TV would put a bargain basement stove in a house but just thought I'd ask.
As far as sales reps, we're on our third one now. The first two left to start their own businesses. The guy we have now is pretty good. Sometimes we have to contact him a few times before he returns our calls or e-mails and that gets frustating. That's why I sometimes ask qusetions here which should probably be answered by sales. Hopefully we're nearing then end of this process now.

If you have your home built you get to choose the quality level of appliances or purchase none and get whatever you like. If you purchase an existing new home you must take whatever they have already placed in there.

This is how it worked a few months back but they are always making changes.

Default Refrig.

Actually it was part of the package, I've seen other I would rather have. To many small drawers in freezer compartment. Also ice maker is in the freezer not thru the door.

Our Sales Rep sent us an email with a PDF file attachment that shows all of the available kitchen appliances packages. I have used the information to look up all of the various models on the GE website. It has been a great help for us in deciding what we want.

If you want me to send you the PDF file, just send me your email address. I will be happy to forward it to you.
