Default Lanai Ceramic Tile Floor Condensation

I assume the extended cold spell combined with the recent warming is what is causing the tile floors on my lanai to sweat with condensation. Is this a typical occurrence in the Villages? Thanks, Tim

It has happened to ours for the first time since we tiled it in 2012. Be careful you don't slip! I went out there after dark in my slippers last night, and it was a skating rink.

Also, it's time for us to wash the tile. The condensation is combining with dirt to make for hazardous navigation. We used to have it washed every two weeks when we had a cleaning lady. Now, not so much!

I guess the place where we had our inside flooring done was right. They said there is special tile and installation procedures (underlayment maybe?) one would have to get to minimize the slipping and sweating of the tile. We still haven't done anything with ours.

Ours has some sort of underlayment. Like I said, this has never happened before. But then, we've never had the nighttime temps go down into the 20s followed by warming with 93% humidity in such a short time. The lanai faces east and only gets morning (i.e., cooler) sun. Plus it needs to be washed (soon to come).

Our tile installers put a vapor barrier put down before the tile was laid on our lanai; no sweating problems.

they are on a slab, hence, condensation. I have river rock and love it.
