Outdoor "Cane" or "Wicker" furniture
Our furniture that we bought from Dockside had a glass table top and the cane (or "wicker") itself was the plastic weatherproof type stuff which is great for outside (although like everything else we seem to find in the States - we are from England) it's made in China! But it's been fine.
We, too, find Porters expensive and the "bargains" for second hand goods at Bargains & Treasures aren't at all bargains when you actually check out the prices elsewhere. |

BTW is that your high school graduation picture in your avatar? |
Lowes
We bought ours from Lowes. Can't remember the cost, imagine that, but we liked it because you could change the table top with floor tile inserts. We color coordinated the tiles to match whatever SHE told me to match. Because I always do what I'm told.

Also what the heck is Fake "fake Wicker"????? |
If you need a smaller table as I did (36" round) because our lanai is only 9' wide, you may want to try Rattan & Wicker World, Hway #441, Leesburg 352-314-8998. We were unable to find this size in the stores mentioned above. We were able to choose from a nice variety of fabric for the swivel chairs and had the set within 1 week. They also have larger sets and an extensive variety to choose from. We are very happy with our purchase and found their prices to be very reasonable.

If you go to the Home Depot website, you will find a huge selection in many different styles. We are very happy with everything we bought there.

Hi,
For really nice outdoor furniture, you should go to Tropi Casual in Melbourne. The owner of the store lives just outside of Lake Weir. Just ask for Laura Hughes and tell her Don Hughes sent you. They will take good care of you. Good Luck!! Shelagh & Don |
We plan to enclose our lanai as we will be here year 'round. Because of this I felt the lanai would have less effect from the elements I fell in love with a set from Southern Lifestyles and it looks beautiful on the lanai. We looked in a lot of places (including the Tropic Casual store in Myrtle Beach - which did have beautiful things). I did not think the difference in prices between SL and Tropic Casual were significant.
As one poster said earlier - I have dreamed of having a lanai. We have always had grocery store deck furniture in the NE (because of the elements, the budget and the short season). It seemed logical to buy something we would have forever. At least, that's my story and I'm sticking to it.... PS - nONIE your picture is absolutely how I have pictured you. I would take TH's post as a compliment. k |

I think Jan is trying to tell us that hes looking for REAL wicker, yes? |

"Fake wicker" is probably plastic that looks like wicker. It may have its advantages. I believe it is colored all the way thru'. I have seen real wicker crack and peel when exposed to lanai weather. Look into this prior to purchasing. |
I've seen good fake wicker and bad fake wicker.
It's like the definition of pornography: You know it when you see it. |
Yes but......... Jan said he doesnt want fake wicker, he wants Fake "fake wicker" and Im trying to figure out if hes talking in double negatives??positives???? you know what I mean. And, he wont splain himself!!!
