Default Closest Casino?

Just curious, where is the closest Casino to TV? Is it Hard Rock in Tampa? Just need to know where to go for my once in while Casino fix.

I believe the Hard Rock in Tampa is the closest. There is a monthly bus trip leaving from the Colony Rec center. Info is posted at the various mail station bulletin boards.

Stop at AAA. I believe they have bus trips once or twice a week.

I have seen (from the highway) and heard about the "casinos" on Hwy 441 and 27 where you buy "phone cards" for $20 and up and play slot machines. They are just real small storefront places. Does anyone know about them at all. I believe one is called Coconuts and is just outside The Villages.

Yes... that's basically it... you buy phone cards and there are numerous video machines with lots of different games to play... poker, black jack, and lots of typical "slot machine" games. They have snacks, and beverages available and you can get there on your cart.

Just curious, are these places legal? I thought I heard last year about one up that way getting raided.

How do these "Phone Card" casinos work? Is it just a legal loophole because you are not putting money into the machine but credits off a phone card? Do they pay off money or do you get credits uploaded to the phone card and get a "refund" of the phone card from the attendant?

Obviously, if it is not entirely sanctioned by the county or state government, there is not any oversight into the machines to see they are paying off honestly by random or if they can be manipulated by the owner.

Default Coconuts

I know the name of one of them is Coconuts. It is in a strip mall that is close to Bealls. The building sits perpendicular to the street.

The indian casinos, like Hard Rock in Tampa, are OK, but not great. They do some thing differently - like you don't get "free" drinks while gambling, not even soft drinks. For the real deal, you probably need to go to Biloxi.
