Default Land Stripping on 466

Does anyone have any information on why the empty lot between the Arnold Palmer Riley & Laurel courses on 466 is being 'stripped'.
About a half acre of the grass on the ~5 acre lot is being removed and leveled.

6 Village of Bridgeport at Miona Shores
7 Village of Bridgeport-Creekside Landings

I know where 3, 4, 6 and 7 are. I suspect that #2 will be North of Old Mill Run.

Anyone know where 1 & 5 are located? Maybe future villages?

Bridgeport at Laurel Valley could be the future development off 466 east of Buena Vista. There is a turn-off, and I think that there are supposed to be 40-50 homes built there. The Arnold Palmer Legends Laurel Valley course is nearby.

Found this in a different thread.

I haven't seen it for a couple of days, but it looked like they were stripping it for sod.

I heard that the premier homes and view-lot (expensive) designer homes are selling at a higher-than-expected rate so new areas for them are being opened before the general move south of 466a. The parcel on 466 will be Bridgeport at Laurel Valley and the parcel next to the Waterfront Inn will be Bridgeport at Old Mill Landing.

Well it sounds like you are on to something.

I would like to publicly apologize to Chacam because I INSISTED there were only three "Bridgeports". I am sorry. It appears that you were right Chacam.

Too many Bridgeports. I guess Harmeswood is the only distinct one.

Don't know who told you that, but when i was in TV in August looking at premiers and upscale designers, it was a total buyer's market. As a matter of fact, all of the 14 properties i looked at are still on the market, except for the one i bought. The homes that seem to still be selling are the more affordable ones.It might be a good idea for the developer to slow down on new construction and let the market absorb what's already available..........just a thought.

Resale Premiers aren't selling very fast but new ones are. There is not one view lot to build a Premier that I know of in The Villages.

I wonder if they will be Craftsman Bungalow style? I grew up in a house like that. I bet a lot of villagers did too.

The difference in sales may be between pre-built new homes and view lots where you can build your home. We just started building in August, but had put a hold on our view lot back in January and our agent was telling us that he has so many clients looking for the "perfect for them" lot and that there were very few "view" lots left especially ones large enough for a pool.
