Default Lantana Question??

In the Lantanta approximately how large is the extra space in the laundry room? Also do any of the designer models have a coat/hall closet?

If you go to the Villages site and find a Lantana you can click on the floor plan. I don't remember any of the designers having a hall closet.

My wife and I bought a lantana today; after a year of contemplation. I don't think you'll find a front hall coat closet in any Florida homes you look at. We noticed that too - but then you won't be wearing a winter coat.

We have seen "used" lantanas with cabinets in the laundry room - including a desk level shelf across the out side wall. In our view that makes the lantana more desirable then, say a gardenia - which is more popular.

I am so torn between the home designs! I like different things about each. . .Cypress, Gardenia/Camelia and Lantana. I like to sew and do crafts and am concerned that I will not have space for my stuff and thought that extra area in laundry room might work.

Clekr: Congratulations on buying your home! Did you purchase a new one or a pre-owned? We hope to make a decision and purchase this fall.

Thanks!

I do remember that the Lantana certainly has enough room in the Laundry room for a sewing table, or craft table. It is hard to decide. We chose a Camellia.

Welcome Checkr!

Are you in Hadley too? Isn't it wonderful?

Graciegirl: Thanks for your responses! We will not be moving full-time to TV until we retire, but are ready to get things in motion. How much time do you spend in TV during the year? We will be limited these first years. Did I also read somewhere on here that you have an Ebay business?? I dabble in Ebay. I can't wait to get down there and meet all you great people.

Thank you JuneBug.

On the 24th we will embark on our second and third week in TV. (Makes me an expert, right? ;D)

Our immediate plans are to live six months a year there/here. I do have a retirement business selling dancewear on ebay. Goes in my grandchildren's college fund.

I also moonlight as a pole dancer, I mean a German dancer...no, just kidding. I got fired.

I just took a tape measure and wandered into the laundry room of my Lantana; not counting the space occupied by the washer, dryer and laundry tub, you are left with an area about 5'6" by 9'. You need a couple of feet as an "aisle" to walk from the kitchen to the garage (and to use the washer/dryer), leaving an area of about 5'6" by 5'7" to use as you wish.

We have a table against the outside wall that my wife uses for her computer and crafts and a number of shelves and miscellaneous other things.

Check the floor plans on villages.com under "homes." I believe that the Mandevilla has a closet in the foyer.

The lantana actually has a coat closet near the front door.

It does? Where? We are having a Lantana built and there isn't a front closet.
