We backed in our drive on an angle so the truck wasn’t in the street. The overhead door was secured. Then next am we pulled it out into the street to unload.

if you get approval, you may be able to park at the nearest rec center, BUT, you MUST fill out a form and file with the rec center and leave a copy in your windshield, so community watch/police know your have authorization to park there.

Thanks for the replies. Any concerns/risks re driveway parking with damaging driveway? The largest U-Haul truck has an empty weight of 13K lbs and there will be approximately 8K lbs of contents. Thanks.

We moved in last year, new build. On the Village’s builder superintendent walkthrough he told us not to let anyone park a big truck on the driveway during the move in. I’m no engineer, so I can’t say he was right or wrong, but clearly cautious. Enjoy your move. I do know our driveway is not cracked!

The UHaul dealer off 301 near Wildwood let us park there overnight. I think it is Lee St. The Villages said we could not park in the street or anywhere else besides the sales center in Brownwood, and we would need advance authorization to do that.

Seriously? What type of neighbor won't be happy about a moving truck parked in the street overnight for one night? I've moved twice in TV and chose to block my driveway with the moving truck. Both neighborhoods were filled with warm and welcoming neighbors.

A word of caution, do not attempt to put the truck on the driveway if you have a thin paver driveway. You'll end up cracking many pavers.

Consider the risk/reward costs if your driveway cracks.

If you park a heavy truck on the driveway there is a small chance of cracking. How small? Can't tell.

But if the drive does crack it will be an expensive fix.

If you park it elsewhere there is zero chance of damage. But you then have a known small cost of getting from & to the truck.

Do you feel lucky?

We brought the uhaul to the house at 1am had it unloaded by 6am to go to breakfast. Wildwood PD stopped at 3am, to say HI, and probably make sure we weren’t removing appliances from a newly built home. We Offered a coffee, and have basically waved to the same few guys every morning around 4am for the last 2 years.
...

Talk about being night owls. I gave up trying to stay awake all night when I finally got off graveyard shifts. Must'a been kinda tough unloading in the dark.

Not at all the new led lights on the lamppost, and our large outdoor garage lights. Looks like daylight in our front yard. However need extra dark shade if you sleep in front room. Friends came over to help. Breakfast, and 2 hours later our Pod arrived in our driveway. Everything unloaded into garages, and one bedroom set up. Following morning Pod was pick up.

We still had our house between the 6’s so I took my time putting stuff away. Closet people came next day later so worked out well.

This is our 4th house in TV, and our 5th up north. One gets to be efficient and well organized, with moving. Which I don’t mind, never a broken anything, as long as I packed myself
