I don't miss him. His persona didn't reach out to me. I don't miss the buffalo either.

To each their own.

Lucky Larry... Moved to a bigger lake. Better food. Lady gators galore.
If it wasn't for his notoriety he would have been eventually removed and killed, like the rest his size.

Do some research in Sanible Island if you want to know how to bring people to their senses and respect these animals.

Fear will get you every time......the only instances of issues here is when people walk their small pets along the ponds. Where humans become an issue with any wildlife is when they feed them...bird feeders, bread for the ducks and meat for the gators or when they put them in a defensive position trying to get that one picture. Then we blame the wild animals because none of this could be our fault. We can coexist with nature, but our behavior makes it difficult.

Should have moved the complainers/interference back to their native land.....

Larry the Gator is gone.

You whining crybabies finally got what you wished for; Larry the Gator was removed and taken to Gatorland in Orlando. Just couldn’t keep mouths shut, could you? I only wish it was just as easy to complain about y’all and get you relocated.

How about your learning to shut up and leave our native species alone for the rest of us to enjoy? 😡😡😡

Exactly! :bigbow:

The way of the buffalo.... We all knew this was going to happen. Poor Larry.

I can't believe some people are upset that a 11', 700 lb alligator was removed because he was becoming too comfortable around people. I would love to hear these same people's comments if he snatched one of their toy dogs or their grandchildren and walked away with them in his mouth.
Don't feed wild animals. The one time they come to you and you don't feed them, you might become the meal.

:ohdear: Not really! If it were true it would mean that people get a second chance at having him made into a suitcase. :icon_wink:

In the end it was his fame that saved him from becoming a suitcase. Celebrity status even among alligators gets you preferential treatment. Go figure!

Be smart enough to keep your dogs and grandchildren away from the gators. Always easier to blame the wildlife than hold so called parents/grown-ups responsible. The age of "always someone else's fault". Do whatever is easiest for "me".

Makes me wonder

Re: Larry?
Wasn't that the rather large gator that became an attraction at the drainage puddle sometimes mislabeled,"pond," on the golf cart path on the way to Traverse plaza?
Wasn't it moved, executed last year?
Someone last year carved him/she/it a name plate.

The one for this year seems to be, if it was removed last year another one.

They are interesting but when we have people stopping by to have chat with."Larry," seeking autographs. When we have paparatzy looking to get selfies. IT IS A PROBLEM LOOKING FOR A TIME TO HAPPEN.

FAR BETTER THAT IT IS GONE.
