I see so many with masks on...they must be sick.

We are all in danger again.

Many in The Villages wear a mask because of being in process of taking chemo, drugs for MS, heart conditions, etc. Their immune systems are compromised, therefore need extra protection from ANY airborne viruses. Most doctors will tell their patients to be extra careful during certain treatments.

Methinks your sarcasm meter is broken...

don't know if this is what you want but it's another source:

You asked for positive reply’s. Now your attacked for asking an intelligent question about Covid rates . Sorry you have run into
such negative comments and misinformation that insults your , my and everyone’s intelligence and is not a good representation of
Villagers . I appreciate your question. I hope the moderators protect us here .

Replying to Bonnevie: This is a very interesting link I had not seen before, thank you for posting it. You can drill down to the stats on each county, as well as each hospital. It appears The Villages hospital almost always has high occupancy in ICU, whether there are a lot of Covid admissions or not.

Smart, not sick.

No Illness in the TV Bubble. We don't need no stinking masks....

Perfect. I do love how sarcasm is so often missed. You even got a "like" from one of our anti-vaxxers as your comment fit his preconceived notions. I am fairly certain that all those who died from the Black Death AKA Bubonic Plague also were vaccinated.

I apologize if this is posted somewhere already but like I said, I search this Forums and did a Google search and there doesn’t seem to be anything other that stats that are a few months old available. I realize The Villages stretches across a few counties but stats should still be available to the general public. Thanking everyone in advance for your positive and accurate replies. Merry Christmas everyone and wishing everyone all the best for 2022.

Florida dept of health has hidden or stopped reporting much data.

Try this: Marion County, Florida Covid Case and Risk Tracker - The New York Times

My opinion is that it is best not to live your life standing under the clouds some would have you believe are permanently affixed but step out into the sunshine and enjoy your existence! I worked in IT for a university with our department being co-located with the schools of engineering of various types. MANY of the students (and professors) were of other nationalities and we were OFTEN informed of a student, or group, as having been diagnosed on campus with the various maladies we mostly just read about here in the US. We took precautions like washing our hands THOROUGHLY, trying not to touch the commonly touched surfaces (and using hand sanitizer if we did), standing a reasonable distance apart and avoiding obviously ill people. But we NEVER isolated ourselves and worried ourselves sick (pun intended). We live in a great place with great people and lots of things to enjoy in our lives! Choose THAT!

I have decided I don’t care what other people do in The Villages. If they fail to take of themselves just a few less people at the buffet.

I gave up trying to figure out how a virus can know it is forbidden to enter under or around those shields... :ohdear::ohdear::ohdear:

If face shields are sssooo useless, then why do many professions wear them inside when working on or close to covid patients that are near-death in ICUs???????

The Villages do not want you to know that Covid is here and has infected many people.

Not people with masks are not sick & just protecting them selves from getting sick.

The people with masks are masking to protect themselves from getting Covid 19. If
people are truly sick, they would (or should) stay home to protect the rest of the population from getting Covid 19.

I believe the county level is very accurate since Villagers interact, dine, and shop in the local area. And, businesses in The Villages as well as the squares are open to the public.
