No need to stay in the area. Estate attorneys can be anywhere, as long as in your state.
I used Andrew Rosenberg in Coral Springs.
Over $900 less than here. Outstanding service, integrity and gets back to you within HOURS.

I’ve known him 20 years. None finer.

Discuss a Ladybird Deed if you are leaving your house to your heirs. Very expensive to transfer a deed upon death in Florida. I used Andrew Curtis.

I wouldn't do it myself.

AMY for sure- been with her for ten years, very competent. About 10 neighbors and friends use her services also.

Question regarding DO IT YOURSELF....

While a simple Will may be easy to put together and distribute to your heirs, isn't an attorney required to probate the Will? I know each state is different; in my home state it made sense to use an attorney to prepare the Will, keep a copy and then be the contact for heirs at death since they had to navigate the probabate system. Just curious because I'm planning the same process and have an appointment with The Millhorn Law Firm this week. Feedback on Millhorn???

First question is, do you need a will? Any assets that are transferred via a Will create a probate estate and a court process to transfer...money and time. Today, most assets can be transferred outside a will with proper titling of assets and POD/TODs.

Regarding POA and ADs, there are legal pdf's online that work fine. Just complete them in the presence of a Notary and they are legal.

We used Carlos X. Jozsi, Attorney at McLin Burnsed in Sumter Landing. Did an incredible job. Highly recommend him.

In Florida, many find a trust much better than a will. Avoid probate.

Tom W., thanks for posting this question. I too am in the process of choosing an estate planning attorney who's best fit for our needs.

Has anyone dealt with Katherine A. Barski, Esq., Bogin, Munns & Munns? Appears a bit pricier than most attorneys in this area but seems to be very knowledgeable, especially tax planning elder law.

If all you want is a simple Will, with no complications with beneficiaries or assets, you can buy the form at Staples or Office Depot and just fill in the blanks. If you want to make it somewhat more official, take it to any Citizens First branch to sign it there and have your signature notarized.
