Default Leaving an automobile garaged while on vacation

Does anyone have information concerning leaving an auto garaged here in the villages while on vacation or an extended leave.

I'm seeking information about what to do/not do with the auto if I plan to be away for six weeks or longer.

Some help would be appreciated. Thanks.

How's about 8 months, same question? I want to leave one of my cars here in Florida from May to December each year.

I have one that I leave but have relatives take it for a spin about every month.

I guess removing the battery and putting it on a trickle charger might be a good idea

Some fear trickle chargers when no one is around to double check, but unhooking a fully charged battery is safe. Also, gas starts going bad after two months, but adding a fuel stablizer works for up to a year. Add it to the tank and run the engine long enough to get it all through the fuel system. Having some one drive it a couple times a month is also good if you can trust them and have the right insurance. You can also do the "in storage" bit for insurance and even lic. if you are gone longer periods. At all times, beware of mold. But then, why leave The Villages, this is heaven on earth.
