As for the dog walking, depends on which golf courses. In Spanish springs quit few course have MMPs around them. Good example one that runs through Chula Vista down to driving range.

What you say about the diamond path is so....BUT noone should be walking dogs on the golf cart paths of the golf-courses south of 466. I've seen folks taking their walks on them as well as some also use them for golf carts NOT when they're golfing. See folks crossing from (is it Amelia golf course?) at the Hadley gate consistently with NO golf bags on board. NOT sure if they think it's a short cut, don't know they're not supposed to or what the deal is.

I don't know south of 466. I rented in Spanish springs and the paths intertwine with the residential 9 hole golf courses from one village to another. IMO after the starter shack closes and the last round get through the course there shouldn't be any golfers on th courses? But, that's me? Others may disagree?

Maybe I read the OP's post incorrectly, but I don't think the scooter was on a MMP.

It sounded to me like it was in the striped cart lane...on St. Charles Street (blvd/circle/place/? :D).

You are correct. I did read the OP incorrectly. The scooter was not on a MMP.

The golf course I saw the dog being walked was on Odell Circle South. I guess it was Mallory golf course.

Where did you learn the speed limit on the MMP is 20mph? Fact not here say.

My understanding is the golf carts are not supposed to exceed 20 MPH. I assumed the speed limit is also 20 MPH on the MMP and the diamond lanes. Is that an incorrect assumption? I have never seen speed limit signs on MMPs so does that mean you can go as fast as your golf cart can go?

golf carts are "supposed" to go the require speed limit of 19.5 to 20 mph. Anything above that is....someone fixed it to go faster and it is againest the law. Despite the many folks that want to argue that fact. Carts that are "street legal"---which means licensed, registered and has ins. can only go 25 mph. We have one of these and have had 'regular' carts pass us. NO regular carts aren't supposed to go as fast as they want to on the diamond or MMP's!!!!!

ColdNoMore 05-07-2018 10:04 PM

Technically, if a cart were to ONLY ever drive on a MMP (almost impossible) and never on a surface street (dedicated lane or not), there's no law on how fast it can go...as there is no legally enforceable speed limit laws on the MMP's.

The minute it hits a surface street however, it must NOT BE CAPABLE of exceeding 20mph...regardless of the speed you're actually driving it.
