I also think the OP is referring to a Hoverboard which is the newest craze among the younger generations. I wouldn't want to see either myself or my husband (at this age).
Not a pretty picture........

I want to understand the post of fred53.

First, the context of jnieman refers to a hoveround, which he calls a mobility scooter in parenthesis. I don't understand how you interpret that to make reference to "an electric two wheeled vehicle." Hoveround is the brand name of an electrically powered wheel chair which has four wheels. The generic term "mobility scooter" refers to electrically powered scooters, some of which have three wheels and others have four wheels which are designed and used by the handicapped. Please explain your "two wheeled" assumption.

Seems to be a little confusion here: The top pic is a hooveround the bottom pic is a hoover board.

Ron_Ski is close to correct. The bottom photo on his post was indeed a Hoverboard.

However the top photo was a Mobility Scooter.

Hoveround is a brand name. They manufacture both motorized wheelchairs (which was their first product) and Mobility Scooters (which they now offer also.)

Hoveround's motorized wheelchair is pictured below.

Check it out

If you are curious about the options in power wheelchairs and Mobility Scooters, you might want to visit the Hoveround web site.

Is it legal to drive your hoveround (mobility scooter) on the street?

I have seen several people riding them on streets, some just neighborhood streets, but today I saw one on Avenida Central trying to make a left turn into the Winn Dixie (VERY busy light) parking lot.
This is so scary. They don't go any faster than a brisk walk and I literally turned my head because I didn't want to see something bad happen.
Has anyone seen this in their neighborhood or on busy streets?

I've only seen it once here in TV, but if memory serves me correctly I believe we (FL) have had several deaths from auto vs mobility chair. One was south of Leesburg when the chair operator tried to cross 441.

I think everybody who responded to him pretty much made your point---no need to spike the football at this point---in a day or 2, everyone will be friends again:beer3:

Actually, to correct the record, I googled Hoveround scooters and this is one of the pictures that showed up. It is of the Hoveround Forerunner. The Forerunner is a mobility scooter manufactured by Hoveround in the early 2000's and appears to have since been discontinued. Best regards and have a great day. Ski

Are we talking about picture captions?

Your picture was a Hoveround brand Mobility Scooter; not a "Hoveround."

The more correct designation for the photo would be Mobility Scooter, not Hoveround since Hoveround is the brand name of multiple products including power wheelchairs, Mobility Scooters, automotive power lifts and wheelchair ramps.

Probably a minor point, but I try to be precise. I meant no offense.
