Week 2 still negative

The better half?

911 was hell on earth — but, remember the feeling of being together as one nation. What happened. (rhetorical question though the answer is multifaceted)

A good and important question.

That's very dark.

Good job Van Gogh is not around, he would have a real problem wearing a mask.

Urgent care, no mask?

I totally agree with the original post. We have to understand that we have all been impacted by our current way of life. Working in a mask all day is certainly different from wearing one for a short period of time. Cooking and serving in one isn’t the same experience and I would expect things not to run exactly smoothly. However, when I went to Urgent Care yesterday and was escorted into a room by the receptionist with her mask dangling from one ear and not covering her face, I spoke up. She said she had one on. Now picture her, literally with the elastic loop hanging from one ear and not attached to the other, her face not covered I asked her to put it on and she told me she was wearing it! Now that is something I consider to be inexcusable. I can put up with my meal not being perfect, I can’t put up with someone in a medical facility not wearing a mask.

Reminds me of way back when several states enacted helmet laws for motorcycle riders. The laws were not specific enough, so the scoff-laws would strap the helmet on their knee because they didn't want to look like dorks. So, instead, they just looked foolish. A request to speak with the person in charge was definitely in order, but going in to urgent care, you may have had other things on you mind.

from experience, i've found if the kitchen floors are clean, the rest of the place is top notch as well. its the method i used for years, lol:ho:

i agree with a lot of what you say, but you notice the snarky & mean comments come from mostly new members. i don't get it. i like to find the best in everybody, & since we moved here, we've been happier than ever. these comments raise suspicions because it's not they way normal people talk-i mean, if we were discussing this issue, the last thing i'd do is call you names & show disrespect. it's very unnatural to talk down to people on a regular basis. idk, is just weird.

You can't wear a mask while you're eating, but they can (and should) ensure that you are seated at least 6 feet away from the nearest table. And I feel it would be the polite and concerned/caring thing to do, to enter the restaurant with your mask on - and leave it on until you are seated. And then put it back on when you get up to leave, and leave it on until you're out of the restaurant.

That's actually how it is at Nardo's, they ask that you wear a mask unless you're seated.

OK. I will do that. In fact, I'll wear the mask until my drink is served to me. Then it comes off. As you suggested, I will don the mask again to leave the restaurant.

Honestly - if you're AT the bar, and ordering from the bartender, it'd be really hard for him/her to maintain a 6' distance from him/her. But if he/she is wearing a mask, the risk is reduced - significantly for you, and somewhat for him/her, of contracting any virus. I think just wearing the mask until you're seated is the most anyone should really expect from the customers at a restaurant/bar.

But it's also what any customer should expect to do, if they choose to go to a bar, at least for now.
