Default Lifestyle visit around Christmas

What type of special events happen around Christmas at The Villages? We love Christmas choral shows and parades, etc. Another question re the LV, I assume you meet with an agent and spend time with that person looking at homes, etc. Do you get any time to yourself to look around by yourself?

I can't help with the Christmas activities because we have not been there yet for it, but I can help you on the rest.
We just did our 1st visit last Feb09. Our time with our Rep started at 9:00 and ended around 1:00 PM. That included the trolley tour, etc. We saw a ton of homes, and all the community facitilites. Our Rep gave us a list of all the properties we had gone to, plus a copy of the Village Daily Sun Paper which had all the open houses etc. We then spent the next day going back to homes we had seen the prior day to include the models, plus the new ones all on our own. We wound up buying 3 months later!!!

Thanks ArmyGuy. That is good to know that you have time to yourself to look around. It sounds good. By the way, my husband thinks a courtyard villa would be the one to buy not only for privacy, but also for our cat to be able to go outside on his own without a leash. We would keep our eye on him, of course. It sounds like you are turning your villa into a very nice place to live.

We did our tour last December and were there for the tree lighting at Lake Sumter Landing. That was nice. As far as agent time that was decided by us. We did a lot of homework before going and gave the agent a list of pre-owned properties and a model name of new homes and price range we were interested in so she could schedule showings and limit our time looking around. Everything worked out great and we had plenty of time for ourselves. We bought a new home in Bonita and all is well.

We also have a block and stucco courtyard villa. It is perfect for those of us that own pets. It also gives you privacy.
We have great neighbors and I would say that at least 60% are full time residents while the rest are snowbirds with a few rentals as well.
The renters are fine .....most are checking things out and might end up buying.

Concrete CYV here also. We bought for the dog, as well as downsizing. Did not want big house or yard again. Honestly we don't plan to spend much time in it at TV anyway, to much to do!

Default Just a couple plugs .........

Just a couple plugs for ALL the various musical events around Christmas time also. The Villages Concert Band has a Christmas show. The Villages Swingband is doing something at the Carriage Museum. And there are 3-4 vocal events (Village Voices,Belle Chords, etc) and others I am not that familiar with.
Since the COS won't let us play there anymore, TVCB has moved to the Northlake Church over on Rolling Meadows Rd behind Big Lots.
It's a musical massage for the senses!

ALSO:

1 Big Band Ballroom Bash (Oct 1st-3rd)7 PM Savannah Center

2 Villages Concert Band (Oct 20th-21st)7 PM Savannah Center

3 Swing Band Masquerade Ball (Booooo Bash) (Oct 31st) Colony Cove

Neat bumper sticker. Went like this: "It's God's job to judge terrorists. Our job is to arrange the meeting!"

Be a gentleman, remove your hat/cap when entering a building and dining out!
