I didn't watch the video in OP because I wanted to see Sawgrass Grove in person. Today, hubby and I took a drive down south to see this new addition to The Villages.
Before heading into the food court (that is exactly what it looks like to me), we went into the sales center. The sales center has a totally different vibe from the sales centers that are in the northern parts. It looks like it is less than half the size of any of the other sales centers and the furnishings are very minimal compared to previous sales centers. I guess The Villages is marketing to the younger crowd. This sales center just doesn't have all those fussy furnishings. It has much more of a minimalist contemporary feel.
Back to Sawgrass Grove food court. I was quite surprised to see how small it is. I stood in the center where the bar is located and could easily see from one end to the other. I can imagine how crowded this is going to be in season. YIKES!
The sweet shop was open. The huge cookies look amazing, but a bit steep at $4 each. Most of the venues weren't open so we will go back when everything is open.
I can see how parking could be a problem when the outdoor entertainment venue is open too. That area looks very small and I wonder how it will handle the crowds if and when popular bands play there. I honestly don't think the area is large enough to fit a large crowd that Rocky or Johnny Wild pull in. Maybe this entertainment venue is not meant for those type of bands. We shall see.
We stopped in to McGrady's Pub just to scope it out. It is so beautiful inside with dark wood panels on the walls. Really nice job for the ambience. I didn't look at a menu while we were there though so would be interested to see the pricing of the food.
I just finished watching the video in the OP. Great job and really gives a bird's eye view of the Sawgrass Grove venue.
