Mallory CC said that their fried chicken is actually broasted. Still pretty good but not deep fried. So I'm down to Cheers. McCall's, or Metro Diner. I've had Cracker Barrel's but not as good.

This is our favorite!

With the new owners they dropped a couple of the side dishes and dinner roll. Seems the chicken pieces some how are bigger when high season ends as I've noticed with most restaurants here.

The best fried chicken as take out, or I guess you could eat there, is Maryland Fried Chicken in Leesburg. Directly across the street from KFC. It’s been there since I was a kid, or longer.

Our last visit chicken was very salty.

We tryed theirs once and they must have been having an off day. The poor chicken must have been starved when alive. We've heard others rave about their chicken

Publix

I had high hopes when I first saw Maryland Fried Chicken. It looked like the perfect representation of a fried chicken joint. Sadly, I was disappointed, but that was some time ago. Will give it another try.

I ventured out last night to Cheers at Stonecrest for the first time in search of good fried chicken.

The chicken was moist and tender - so kudos for that. However, I was not a fan of the breading/batter. Cooked properly, but had very little seasoning or flavor. Extremely bland. Was hoping for something with a bit more “zing” like the great fried chicken I had on a recent trip to Louisiana.

I know there are many in TV that don’t like a lot of seasoning to their food, so I get why the restaurants here will cater to the majority in that regards. I guess I would return to Cheers, as the chicken wasn’t bad or anything, just not the “best”.

I've been there a few times, but they still don't know my name.

Note that when Johnny Ray is there, you need a reservation.

OP here. A lot of people have said that they like Publix, which I didn’t care for because of the very heavy coating. We found out that you can request what I’ll call a single dip. Big difference, I like it much better, and for $10 for a 8 piece box it’s hard to beat.

It's good, but not crazy better than other chicken tenders out there, IMO.

It also is on the more expensive side of the scale. And when the cashier spun the pad around and was looking for a 15, 20 or 25% tip for fast food, I swore I would not go there again.

I tip well (20% plus) for really good sit down service. But for handing me a bag at the counter? Too much.

I believe that is run by the former owners of Demshars. If that is the case and they haven’t changed the recipe, that is the best chicken I have ever eaten, and I’ve eaten a lot.

Tipping has gotten out of control. Tip for serving us at a table is fine but to hand me a bag after taking our money, not going to get tipped.
