The "relocating" section of TOTV lists three internet providers, Century Link, Xfinity and Spectrum. Does anyone have any comments, experience or recommendations you are willing to share with a newcomer?

I have used Xfinity for 5 years with very few problems.

I have also used Xfinity high speed internet for over five years with minimal problem. I never call Xfinity for help, but I go into one of the Xfinity stores here if I need to make changes. We live stream and do not use Xfinity cable service.

Generally I have found Xfinity to be the best priced and also good service. Keep an eye out for specials. I currently have 50 mbps for $25 per month for the first year which is more than enough bandwidth for my wife and I.

Spectrum is great.
Been with them ~10 years, no issues.
Had the cable cut by contractors a couple of times, they fixed it that day.
200 Mbps............I don't need that fast, but it's fun.

I have 600 Mbps and it's more fun.

This is too funny. It used to be that fast cars were more fun, now it's the internet. What happened to us?

Not all services are available in all locations of TV, so the OP might want to indicate at least the village they are moving to.

Good point. It's the Hammock at Fenny. I tried to get some pricing info on the Xfinity website but they want the address and it's not in the system yet. I just have to be patient, all this will fall into place.

If you mainly stream your TV and want the best and cheapest get 1GB Quantum Fiber Internet for $65/month for life. I believe they give you a free Wi-Fi router as well that will cover your whole house. No taxes, etc.. Almost every home built from 2015 on in the Villages already has the fiber connection at their home.

Most people these days have Netflix, PrimeTV, AppleTV and other streaming services. If you have a smartTV or a Ruku or an AppleTV device there are many free apps to get a lot of the channel content that you get with cable. If there are some specific channels you want that you can't stream for free you can always pay for add Hulu, YouTubeTV and other services that will give you most or all of the cable channels. At the end of the day, you can go traditional and get cable and fuss with the rate increases and the switching when they raise your price after a year or two or just stream everything with only an internet connection and you are done. You will probably find getting just internet and streaming everything will probably be cheaper and better than going with traditional cable and you won't have the traditional problems with set top boxes, raising rates and outages. These days streaming services like Hulu and YouTubeTV and others give you the "cable" experience cheaper and it's very easy to use. If you go to Get Blazing Fast Quantum Fiber Internet for your Home or Business they also have a section showing how to subscribe to these streaming services if you want to. I recently moved to the Villages and have Quantum Fiber and many of my neighbors have switched since they also now just stream TV and wanted a fixed low price.

If I had my choice, I would go with Fiber. (Whichever provider)

But no fiber in my neighborhood… only xfinity, Century Link DSL or TMobile home internet. I used Century Link for 3 years without problem but it is very slow.

I decided to try TMobile and have had that for 4 months now. I am very satisfied. 150 mb/sec download; $50 per month; no contract; no hardware to buy or rent
