That's a good idea. You will then be here for the September invasion.

I found that the full face shield keeps them out of your mouth when you hit a swarm.

Full face shield? I am a REAL Biker! Got to have them in your teeth!:clap2:

When I rode in Florida back in the 60-70s you had to wear a helmet. On the highway, I liked to wear the shield to avoid getting hit in the eye by a wayward dragonfly. A dragonfly to the chest at 60 mph was bad enough.

But I do agree - How do you tell a happy biker? By the number of love bugs in his teeth!

I wear a turtle shell helmet and sunglasses.

Love bugs

Using a good coat of wax will serve the same purpose as WD 40 and I think its better for the car.

WD 40 does not hurt the paint on your car. I spray it on the whole front after I wash it. I wipe it off and leave a thin coat.

PTurner, that is why we Bikers make sure we use a good brand of toothpaste and floss!

Haven't seen any yet. The spring invasion around here was minimal, at least where I live.

They are little buggers, that's for sure!

I have always used fabric softener sheets too. Just get the sheet wet and the bugs wipe off.

SoHumble 09-06-2010 04:28 PM

A friend's daughter used to call them two headed bugs.

rjm1cc 09-07-2010 11:35 AM

Are these primarly local to the Villages or the whole Ocala area?

Thanks vj, that sounds like a good idea. Maybe I'll spray on WD-40 and wipe off with fabric softener sheets for a double dose of clean. :loco:
