We use damp dryer sheets which work quite well.

Plastic wrap is a bad idea, if it comes loose and gets into the radiator the engine will over heat. Not to mention it would be really hard to get the plastic out of the radiator, so potential for a big bill. Wax the heck out of the front of the car, then spray wd40 on the bugs and wash off, no damage to paint.

A better solution

Spray the front of the vehicle with snow plow wax available on Amazon. I use Deep Woods brand and the bugs rinse off with a hose. Also Rain X the windshield same results, just hose it off.

Apply Saran Wrap to the front bumper, being careful not to block the radiator air intake grill; when there are enough bugs caught that you want to remove it, simply peel it off, roll it up in a ball, throw it away, and apply a new piece. This can save time and money by reducing the number of times that you need to go to the car wash.

Use ARMORALL Protectant wipes. Two weeks ago, I wiped the Love Bugs gently off the car with it and then wiped it with fresh wipes on most of the car. It was amazing...not one Love Bug flying around me and the car went back on the car. It’s the best solution ever for them.

Don't Love Bugs!

Growing up in Brevard County, we would have NOTHING but bugs coming to Orlando via SR520. Two things we learned:

1) Pam spray vegetable oil was the best device to keep from ruining your hood paint and easily removing after a car wash, BUT...........

2) that DOES NOT keep them from clogging your radiator from these gifts from the gods.

You MUST high pressure wash through your radiator, engine side out towards front bumper or suffer the consequences !!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the laugh!
