Also they would have to do a study for millions of dollars to determine if was feasible so we the tax payers would once again take the hit.

That ALSO makes a lot of sense!:agree:

That being the case, if these are now converted from LSVs to golf carts, the end result from the government's perspective is the same - they will still be saving energy. Therefore, what would the rationale be to take away the tax credit when the vehicle is still doing exactly what it was intended to do - save energy?

Obviously, if LSVs save energy, then so do golf carts and it begs the question as to why buying a golf cart did not result in a tax credit. But that's a whole other discussion (who ever said the government makes logical tax laws?)

I understand and appreciate your point of view. However consider that these folks would have purchased an electric golf cart without th tax credit. and again remeber that GM bought 10,000 electric carts and stored them in a warehouse. so i doubt saving energy wasn't their goal.
Taxpayer got ripped off with this program much to my chagrin

I'm not sure if the GM story is true or not (sounds kind of like an Urban Legend to me), but even if it is, I don't think it was the same program that gave them a credit since the LSV program that people around here used was for individuals, not corporations.

I saw some simple curiosity, not anger. Why make it up ?

Not one person who took advantage of this tax credit knew they were going to be able to revert back to using their cart as a non-LSV. Period. So direct your anger where it may prove productive.
Just sayin'

If you can point out a single word that reflects anger you are a wonder. The man that wrote the Daily Sun article was just posing a reasonable question.

There seems to be a few that made a determination that the gentleman who wrote the Daily Sun article or myself who posted a comment in Talk of The Villages was expressing anger. In my opinion, I did not see a whit of anger in his letter to the editor but rather asking a reasonable question. I was merely posting what I thought was something of interest.

I believe it was the same program but irresponsible use of taxpayers money is so common with our government that it would surprise me i there were more than two perhaps foty of the same program
