Default Lowes Veterans Discount

Lowes has changed the way you get the 10% Veterans Discount. You have to register for a MyLowes card, and apply for the Veterans Discount. You register on-line and it is easy to do; just need the separation date from your DD-214.

With this new card, you can get the Veterans Discount on-line and at the self checkout in the store, something the old program did not support.

It took me less than 5 minutes to set it up, and I was able to order a dishwasher on-line and get the discount right away. You can get a MyLowes card in the mail, but you can also access the discount with your phone number.

I've had it for over a month. Love it, works great! They verified my military service in about five days. At that point I could have printed out a temporary card but I waited about three more weeks and the plastic card came in the mail. Thanks Lowes!

I have the My Lowe's card. After I filled out the vets discount request it said I could get the 10% discount - no waiting.

Aren't they accepting your VA card anymore?

It is a government issued card with your photo on it.

Of course, it would not work for buying online but I don't buy from Lowe's online.

I asked my husband, who went to Lowe's this morning if they still accepted his VA card and they did, without question.

My understanding is that they will no longer accept the DD214. The MYLOWES account came with one card and one key ring card. My SO and I have used several times without any issues.

to clarify, they will use your DD214 to verify you are entitled to the discount when signing you up for the MYLOWES card. We were told the discount was being abused and they wanted a way to track who was using the discount. At some point, I expect they will no longer accept DD214 as acceptable proof unless you have a MYLOWES card.

No, this is NOT a credit card. However when You sign up for a MyLowes card You can have it linked to your Lowes Credit Card and automatically get the 10% Vets discount rather than the automatic Lowes Credit Card discount of 5%. By the way, HD will only accept the VA card.

No, it is not. It is a "my Lowes" card which will give you the 10% discount. Now if you want, you can attach your favorite credit card to it (I didn't do that).

I have the "V" on my Florida drivers license. I'll try it the next time I shop there.
