Social distancing and golf:

What is a priority pool. New here.

Kim Fowler 05-04-2020 09:14 PM

Country club pools, for those who have a priority golf membership.

gregcharlesnelson@gmail 05-05-2020 05:20 AM

I went yesterday about this time and am going today too. Light crowd and warm water..glad to be back!

Rwirish 05-05-2020 05:22 AM

Mask are not required for golf. They are required for the appropriate activity.

Clarinet 05-05-2020 05:43 AM

I wonder what the policy is regarding swimming in the sports pools. If you are swimming in a lane and keeping your social distance is it necessary to wear a mask. I suppose you could swim if you keep your head above water but it would be difficult to breathe if the mask is wet.

Dust Bunny 05-05-2020 06:09 AM

I stopped by our pool in McClure and it was closed?? No one there. Chairs were up on the tables

ts12755 05-05-2020 06:45 AM

Some people are just so hateful they find fault with everything.

I don't swim with my head above the water when doing the Freestyle stroke. Wearing a mask in the water would cause me to drown. NOPE.....not going to wear a mask while swimming. If it is mandated to wear a mask while in the water, I will not be swimming laps in the sports pools. Honestly, the thought of requiring a mask when swimming is absurd.

Carla R 05-05-2020 06:59 AM

OMG I would like to think that when I am going to the pool that I'm not being critiqued by fellow villagers. Can we all just go, relax and not have to read about your experience. Who cares???

No masks when swimming.

Joeint 05-05-2020 07:11 AM

I went to two pools Spanish Moss and Everglades. I was told the same thing at both pools, masks are required to enter the pool area once ready to go in the pool the mask can be removed six-foot distance, one person per lane lap swimming, you must have your Villages ID, walking around the pool is in a single direction indicated with arrows, one-hour time limit if there is someone waiting. It was very organized and went well.

If you don't care, why did you click on this thread? Don't say, "the devil made me do it". LOL.

I care. I would like to know how the guidelines are being put into effect. I'd like to know how many people are actually adhering to the guidelines.

Thank you!

Unless you were at a Sports Pool there is no swimming at the other pools. That is why he told you water walking only no swimming. Sports Pools have designated areas for swimmers the rest if the pool for walkers. I'm surprised he did not explain that to you. But you still enjoyed the pool. Unfortunately live bugs are not subject to social distancing. LOL)

wayneman 05-05-2020 08:34 AM

Exactly

they aren't going to open it up yet. it's just a handful of them, looks like mostly family pools. closest 1 to us would be either cattail or fenney.

That's right, i forgot. Golfers are immune to covid19. It's the tennis and pickleball players that are the carriers.:faint:

Kahuna32162 05-05-2020 09:34 AM

Best decision we ever made, buy a house with a pool. We've been enjoying it every day.

I thought so. I was told differently by another poster however, that people can swim in pools that are not sports pools.

Rosebud1949 05-05-2020 10:11 AM

You should live by the golf courses. ALL the time we have had restrictions NO ONE IN A CART WEARS A MASKS.. nor do they on the course.

This is actually not accurate. You can swim at any pool. I swim short side to short side and others walk short side to short side. Been doing that at my local pool about 5 years now. Today I swam the entire pool since I was the only one there from about 1030 to 11.

There are not, of course, any dedicated lanes set aside for swimming.

OK, ONE MORE TIME IN EASY TO UNDERSTAND WORDS-----MASKS ARE NOT REQUIRED, NOR WERE THEY EVER, FOR GOLF, CYCLING, WALKING AND RIDING AROUND IN A CART

Get it now????? Or is anyone out there STILL illiterate ?????

So you of course realize you wearing a mask out side in 80degree weather does nothing but in crease your risk for heat stroke, and let’s not forget it makes “mom and dad “ feel like they are doing something . I for one am not a fan of funky tan lines.😷

It's even worse when it's almost 90° and your job for the next two hours is to gather all the shopping carts from the parking lot and push them into the store.

We were allowed to get away with pulling the mask down while we were outside, until someone forgot to pull theirs back up when they got inside JUST as customer was passing the doorway. That customer could have just reminded the employee to tug the mask over her nose (it was still covering her mouth). Instead, she went to the service desk and made a formal complaint. Now, we have to keep our masks up the entire time we're on the clock, even when we're outside just grabbing shopping carts and nowhere near other people.

As I said in previous threads - one person can ruin it for everyone.

Have patience....I suspect this will go away in a couple weeks, there is a reluctance to enforce since everything is a suggestion right? Neighbor was at Gators in Brownwood, employees not wearing mask or gloves, social distancing very lax on the square....stay six feet apart, stay in groups of 10 or less, choose one. We have a President and Governor that wants to open up, who's going to try and push back....no persons or businesses around here.
