Mail issue
Hold on, hold on, mail issues....last month I received 11 pieces of mail from 2019. Yes condolence cards and even a check for $1300. Excuse was it was found under equipment which was recently moved at Lady Lake. I hope I get another surprise check in 2025...🤔

We have experienced delays on several bills and currently waiting on something mailed a month ago. It is election season so expect the worst. You can thank our postmaster general.

USPS is having difficulty hiring and retaining employees. The people who work in the mail stations aren’t even USPS employees; they work for sub-contractors. Those employers, whose pay and benefits probably aren’t even as good as USPS are almost certainly having the same problem.

Wasn’t the current Postmaster General appointed by the former POTUS, with instructions to slow down the mail-in ballots? He immediately took a bunch of high speed mail sorting machines out of service. Don’t we have an election coming up?

If you have a serious problem with mail delivery, visit the Lady Lake main Post Office at 850 Teague Trail and ask to speak with the Postmaster, Denise Buell. Be polite and concerned not ranting. She is the one that assigns the contractors to the mail stations. She'll want your address and/or 9 digit Zip Code and specific instances of what pieces were missing and approximate dates of delivery.
We had a problem a few years back with an old guy smoking cigars in the mail station. All our mail smelled of smoke. One complaint to her and puff, he was gone. Ask other residents at your mail station if they experience the same problem. If yes, encourage them to visit or call the postmaster (352-753-3888) too. Years back we had a husband and wife team for about two years. They were great. Never a mistake; very friendly too. Oddly their last name was Stamp! Then they suddenly got re-assigned, replacing a bad contractor somewhere else. Contractors seldom last 1-2 years in the same station. Report back here when you have a solution. Skip |
