It has not been as bad as last year, when we got 100++ but it has been a real pain, first snow... then snow..... then brutal cold, we live on the Saco river on Irving street, ( we own the last two houses on the street) just before Diamond park and let me tell you, when the wind comes down the river you cannot stay out for a long time. One day last week it was -11. I like Maine, but when we move down to the Villages in 490 days 6 hours and 25 minutes ( not that I am counting), I do not think I will be back. My wife wants to keep a place up here but I told her to have a good time when she visits Maine.

We had -28 two weeks ago today.

When I retire, the only frozen water I ever want to see again is the ice in my drink. And the short winter days really bother me the older I get.

Give me warm breezes, sunshine, lots of daylight, and color instead of a monochrome world six months of the year.

We'll still summer in Maine, but we'll be gone before the leaves fall in autumn, and not be back until the new spring leaves fill out the trees.

Hey Dan and Nancy,

We are moving to Bonita in April. My husband's family is from Port Clyde originally and he went to Hebron Academy and Bates. I am looking to meet new friends from everywhere - but it is always great to have a connection to the place where you grew up, raised your family, etc.

Is the Noreaster group the one we are looking for ? We will be arriving in Bonita around the 6th of March but will only be there until the end of the month. One of us is not retired yet. We are really getting excited about our arrival and the ned of winter for us. DAN and Nancy
