Bobcats are not Harmless Creatures

Bobcats are not harmless. They are formidable, wild animals that can eviscerate a Doberman faster than you can say, “here kitty, kitty, kitty.” Yes, I know someone to whom this happened. Drug the dog out of the dog door. Not a happy day. Live and let live I say, but don’t underestimate the power and capacity of these seemingly small cats.

Bobcats might be cute but they’re here for a reason, they’re predators. Very nasty if you approach one, I know because hunted them. Very nasty tempers. Hope an authority reads this & gets them out of TV. If you think they’re cute & cuddly I think you’ll be sorry! Bobcat always avoids people, they must sick!

Bobcat also in Village of Sanibel

I was sitting in my enclosed lanai about 10 days ago and likewise saw a bobcat which walked the whole length of the lanai almost touching the lower windows about 6 in the evening. Quickly scooted off when I banged on the window. Probably weighed 15-20 lbs. Small but certainly bigger than your normal housecat.

About a month ago we had a bobcat walk through our backyard. He was in no hurry. We live in Bonita

We used to live in SE FL and saw bobcats frequently. They walked on the street and we saw them in our yard. When we first moved there we had one dog. Her and I were walking early (too early) one morning and the sun wasn't up yet. It was a very wooded and not yet developed area. I heard a bobcat in the woods next to us and my dog being a young, happy go-lucky pup wanted to go play with the bobcat, even though it was growling. I told her no, and we kept walking. Less than 10 feet ahead on our left we discovered an armadillo walking. My guess is we interfered with the bobcats morning hunt and it wasn't happy with us. But it didn't bother us. None of them ever did. They just walked wherever they were going, day or night.

We did get a Dobie puppy later and had to fence in our back yard. The breeder had already cropped her ears and docked her tail. The blood would attract a bobcat to a young, vulnerable pup. We got a fence put up quickly but in the mean time I carried her out to the yard and as soon as she was done I picked her up and carried her back in the house.

As for panther/mountain lion, I’ve seen film of one hopping over a ten foot fence and dragging a 90lb Akita over it like it was a kitten. Never underestimate the power and strength of a hungry, wild animal.

Neighbor video of Bobcat walking between our homes in Hacienda South around 5pm…2-3ft tall came off golf course into our hood yesterday
