My only assumption is those who are fighting back on this Thread are the “Spreaders”.

Live by the sword die by the sword.

Ouch

I noticed it within a few months of moving here. I asked my husband about it. He said it’s usually due to men’s big stomachs and being overweight. Their thighs are taking up all the space needed for his junk….so, the junk needs some space. Thus the need to splay themselves.

Hope that helps…. :)

But it's their body, their life, and if they enjoy it, then "C'est la vie"!

I was born before the tattoo generation. Some tattoos are cringe-worthy. And people ACTUALLY pay money for them. I watched them come into fashion with GREAT surprise. When I was young, you only saw tattoos on drunken, lonely sailors. Fashion can be strange sometimes, I guess.

I don’t have any tattoos. I don’t particularly like them, but I will say something about those people who do have tattoos: you never see them complaining on TOTV about you not having any!

Manspreading, never heard it described like that. I hung my leg out for years when I had a cart at a campground. In the villages I do it now and again but not when in traffic etc. if I am the only one out there I do it and come 9 PM I am the only one out. No big deal, not sure it is a comfort thing or a habit.

Me neither. Mind-boggling. I have to lean all the way to the window in an uncomfortable position to try it myself, and I have long arms. Again very baffling to see it and I always figure they have some really low IQ.

Years ago, we were coming home in the evening from Spanish Springs and there had been a bad accident. It happened in the round about and the police had us go the opposite way on the round about. It seems a man had his left knee outside his golf cart. He didn't see the stop sign posts that were in the middle of the path. His knee hit the stop sign post and shattered his knee. They air lifted him to a hospital. Very sad.

Most are cringe, as I keep my skin clean for this very reason. Don't get me started on those nose rings though. I feel like handing them a kleenex. Actually saw a poster in a store the other day of a model wearing one. Ugh....

Get some common sense…..

if the left leg is going to get whacked because of it leaning out the side....then the entire left side of the cart is going to suffer as well. we are talking inches karen.

Please take this in the least snarky tone possible.

I really want to know why you care if someone does this. Most of us as children learned from our mistakes, like touching a hot stove. If this individual gets their leg/foot whacked, my guess is that they will not do it again...

For those of us who may have not learned from our mistakes over our lifetimes, we probably won't reach the age to be able to take advantage of all TV has to offer, right?

Natural selection I suppose. I say let 'em get whacked.

Hmmm one way to look at it but IMHO not the best way to make friends and influence people.

If you really need to give guidance to folks about things like this, they probably don't need or will not use the advice anyways. Best to just let them learn on their own (keeping in mind that the age of residents in The Villages indicates they are supposed to have lived a life already).
"Good judgement comes from experience. Experience comes from bad judgement."
They'll eventually figure it out.
