If permissible by the project owner, you would have to read :read:the executed contract between the contractor(s) and owner(s) of the construction project to find the correct answer.
If a performance bond was required it would guarantee that the contractor(s) complete the construction work on time, within budget, and according to construction contract(s) specifications. A labor & material payment bond, if required, ensures that the contractor(s) pays all laborers for their services before they leave the job site.
