Your solution won't work because of official mail that comes from the IRS, a jury summons, and other official mail that cannot be ignored. So, you are being forced to use the mailbox.

Sorry, no you are not forced. You choose to. You will not be arrested for not having a mailing address. Ask me how I know (hint, has to do with having been homeless for over 6 months.)

So, what do I put on my Federal tax return in the space that asks for a mailing address? Should I leave it blank? I really don't think that will work.

Never know until you try. I know of NO laws requiring a mailing address, but I can assure it it complicates getting any handouts from the government when you are homeless.

Oh, they found plenty of concrete evidence...

They were just to cickensh*t to do anything about it...

My guess is they didn't want to catch a severe case of "Arkancide"...
