There are a lot of places in The Villages where an MMP crosses paths with a 2-lane road. When we leave Osceola Hills, we have to wait for the gate to open, and the carts have to wait for us to go through the gate.
Once a cart is able to go forward, there is an area for the cart to stop half-way across the intersection in case another car is entering our village. When a golf cart is leaving Sawgrass on the MMP and wants to go south on Meggison, I guess the cart has to drive across both lanes of Meggison all at one time. I think it would be safer if the cart could cross one lane of Meggison and then have a place to stop until the other lane is clear. |

“ The Federal Highway Administration's Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices states the minimum height of a stop sign, measured from the top of the curb or ground to the bottom of the sign, shall be 7 feet.” You can’t ticket those stop signs on the ground, they aren’t to federal spec. |

Vehicles, espically construction with trailer's doing 50+ on Megason. It does look like the walking path was designed for carts. |
We have to wait until there is a fatal accident at that crossing before the County does anything...Any volunteers?

However, the MMPs are nice to have. A couple days ago, I was leaving Osceola Hills in the morning and the exit gate would not open. I just turned right onto the MMP, drove up to the entrance to Burnsed Rec Center, turned left to get onto Deskin, and then drove to my doctor's appointment. |
I can’t walk near the ponds because the deer flies are biting big time!

Or the public officials finger pointing, ignoring the hazard while approving funds to keep golf carts from parking on the grass... I'm sure a cost effective revision could be developed given the brain power that designs this place. |

Cart merge

It appears cars speed up where there they are required to slow down for gates that aren’t always there. Cars and carts should both be doing 20 mph, but car speeds aren’t enforced (at least not enough). Both the golf cart that is forced to move into the automobile lane and the car contest for a spot required by both for movement. |
