I feel perfectly safe in a one stall bathroom with the door locked. A sign Men or Women is irrelevant.

Such irrelative analogies. You can do better then that.

I was taken aback by her remark but held back commenting because it was “in use” and I went on my way. I thought to myself that I would NEVER, EVER attempt to enter a Ladies Room but it appears some attitudes and rules have changed? This is dangerous territory especially for women if this becomes normalized. Under some rare and really crowded circumstances, I could see the desire to share these facilities but I think women in particular should be careful in mainstreaming this. Be careful what you wish for. It could get dangerous.
I've ran into the same thing at 5 guys in Brownwood. But myself I do understand why the women started using the Men's Room. If You got to go, you got to go where there's availability & the men's room was unoccupied so they use it. Actually I've done the same thing. But in your defense the ladies should of backed off & waited for you to use the bathroom, after all it does say MEN'S ROOM. They should of left you do your business then use it again until another male had to use their legal rest room. You know you could of just went in & stood at the urinal & did your business then if some inconsiderate lady said something you could of said "The Door says Men".

What don't you understand? The words are obvious. The signage "Men" and "Women" don't really need to be changed!

Probably just another self-centered and entitled Villager. Don't worry, you'll get used to it in time...

I think the signs should be changed on single stall bathrooms to Unisex.

I very much agree.

We went to the beautiful Washington Oaks state park located between St. Augustine and the town of Flagler and the new rest rooms were all unisex. I thought that was great.

We have been going there for almost 50 years and it is more beautiful than ever. It has no food service but just south of the park is Caprain's BBQ, which was very good. Of course, we really miss the nearby restaurant (or dive) at Matanzas inlet, but that got washed away by hurricane Mathew in 2016.

Yes.... Yes it does... If you are an entitled villager and the rules don't apply to you!

The problem originated because for some unexplained reason, women take longer than men. If the opposite were true you would not hear women saying that it was OK for Men to use the Ladies Rooms. In fact, they would likely defend their turf. In all these posts there has not been a single comment from anyone with a suggestion as to how Women could do their part for other Women by shortening their stay in the ladies room, which after all is the problem. There is not that much of a difference in procedures between men and women so what ever else is going on on there should be addressed by women and no need to invade the rooms reserved for Men for at least 100 years or more.

Like Laws, you do not get to decide which sign you obey and which sign you honor. To say or do otherwise, creates chaos.

If there are not enough stalls to accommodate users, perhaps the signs on these one person only restrooms, should say “Restroom” and nothing else.

I’m sorry if females take longer in the restroom, perhaps it is to make ourselves look extra nice for you guys?

I personally prefer not to use the men's room as us ladies have to sit on the seat and sometimes the men (no offense) miss where they are aiming! Ladies rooms should be for Ladies and Men's rooms for Men!
