BOTH of your examples, were of attacks in multiple stall, public restrooms...without main door locks.

This entire thread, has dealt with SINGLE use restrooms (with locks)...and whether or not they are safe.

In your desperation, you have tried mixing apples and trucks...and I've simply set you straight.

You're welcome.

Actually you mixed bathrooms and parking lots.

So the men entering a women’s bathroom would look to see if it was a single lock bathroom and if so, he would leave and not attack the woman?

Why would he do that ?

Hmmmm..

DUUBLE DUH!

Good luck explaining to the dense, something that should be obvious...as I give up.

It all depends on how bad you have to go and how far away the next available loo is!!

The actual public restrooms have plumbing, real toilets, and are wheelchair accessible with diaper-changing stations.
It was many years ago when I visited Italy. Believe me, those holes in the ground were in use, not just on display.

The article states the attacker was "hiding in one of the stalls". Sounds like this was not a single stall restroom which this thread has been addressing.

I think the problem is with the lady, not the restrooms. OP indicated they were labeled Men's and Women's. There was no line for the Men's. She was in the line for the Women's, not both of them.

If we don't follow at least some of the world's signs, uncomfortable things could happen.

Google is only your friend if you can read. We are talking about one toilet rooms like yours at home, but with a "Men" or "Women " sign on the door. I have used the one labeled "Women" at the neighborhood pool and guess what? They're both the same!

Actually, it’s not that uncommon in TV. I think it started on the golf courses, where there is often just one restroom. Not really a big deal, but locking the door is recommended.

I thought to myself that I would NEVER, EVER attempt to enter a Ladies Room but it appears some attitudes and rules have changed? This is dangerous territory especially for women if this becomes normalized. Under some rare and really crowded circumstances, I could see the desire to share these facilities but I think women in particular should be careful in mainstreaming this. Be careful what you wish for. It could get dangerous.
don't think she'd want to when I got done
