So, have you discussed with the folks sorting the mail…at your mail station? Yes/No
If yes and no satisfaction go to Lady Lake PO and discuss with postmaster.
If no, you should.

I don't know who the Carrier is and have never been up there when they deliver. I did speak to the Post Master at the Lake Lady PO when my 3 priority mail packages hadn't been scanned at the satellite location off of 441 (I mail anywhere from 5 to 15 priority packages a day). I was told by the staff at the satellite that I must not have brought them in and they didn't know anything more. The Post Master at the main Lady Lake PO was able to use the tracking number and their internal system and found that they were, in fact, in route to their destination and that the satellite office had just failed to scan them which rendered the tracking for the customer useless (which is why one of my customers contacted me wanting to know why the tracking just said "booked" and not accepted by the post office). She (Lady Lake Post Master) told me I will need to either scan them myself at Lady Lake or stand in line to have them scanned individually by the staff to ensure they are actually scanned and not missed (they're all prepaid) -- so, problem solved there. Tomorrow I'll have to go back up there and see if she can figure out what happened to the package that was placed in a parcel locker. Again, maybe I'm not familiar with the set-up for parcel lockers here. I'm thinking we all use the same lockers and that a key to a locker is put in your mailbox when you have a parcel in one of them. But, again, I may be wrong and maybe I have my own parcel locker I'm not aware exists (you know, being a "newbie" and all and being so demanding that I expect to receive my mail and packages -- very unreasonable expectations it seems to some).

You don't have your own parcel locker at the postal station. So, if the postal employee puts a key in your mailbox for locker number 12, but inadvertently puts your package in locker number 14, the person who has key number 14 can steal your package and you will have no recourse with the Post Office. They will claim that they delivered the package to you.

I agree with you. I'm guessing that the Lady Lake Post Master is not aware there's a problem. I think it's only common courtesy to let her know in person that I've now had a problem 6 times (another one just happened) in 30 days plus the 3 additional priority mail issues. I will track my issues if they continue so she can have specifics that can be addressed with the Carrier(s). It's my understanding that there's more than one Carrier and/or contract staff. The post office used to pride itself on delivering through -- what was it -- hail, rain, sleet, etc., etc. What's happened to that service and the deserved pride of the Carrier that went with it?

I don't know who they are or when they're there. I've gone several different times during the day and have never seen anyone there who's doing the mail. I have been told by a couple people there who were getting their mail that it's more than one Carrier that handles our mailboxes. I may have to sit up there and wait for the Carrier though so they can try and find the parcel box they put my package in since the tracking says it was put in one.

It is the Federal Government. They actually sent thousands of stimulus checks to dead people, and the guy in charge told the relatives to just keep the money. How is that for customer service to the taxpayers?

Yup, that's how I figured the postal lockers worked (same as other places). I've never had a key in my mailbox and I've actually been looking for one as I've been expecting this package. So the Carrier must have put the key in someone else's mailbox or maybe forgot to put the key anywhere or maybe it fell out on the floor as the back of the mailboxes are open. I have no idea, but I'm missing the package that was delivered. I'll have to see if they can figure it out at the post office tomorrow as I have the tracking info. I'm assuming the Carrier(s) will have access to all the parcel lockers and can see if they can find the package. This is so time-consuming and frustrating to have to be running up to the post office to locate packages mailed and packages that were to be received.

There just doesn't seem to be any accountability or responsibility or even pride in doing a good job or doing things right. Unfortunately, it will be our grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren who will inherit today's missteps.

In my Village the new contractor (and we've had 3 errors in 1 month so far) put a sign on the locked door that says "DO NOT DISTURB THE POSTAL WORKERS." Kinda hard to be polite.

As a general rule the contract delivery carriers are released from the post office between 1030 and 11 and will probably arrive at your postal station between 1130 and noon and should be there putting the letters in the mailbox’s for at least an hour or two before they head out to deliver the larger packages.

The 3 people we have all arrive at different times, anywhere from 2pm to 7pm, and if the person who handles your box is not there, the others WILL NOT check for you.

Wow, "do not disturb..." and they won't help. I'm also just guessing here, but the Carriers may be under some stringent time requirements that are causing them to rush and not adequately focus on delivery accuracy. Possibly a reason, but not a valid excuse.

I believe the current Postmaster General of the United States who was appointed last summer I believe is the one you should contact as he decided to make lots of changes (it's been in the news since last year) and screw up mail delivery. That being said you are obviously running a business out of your home (15 pkgs a day?) so the only way you can be sure they will be scanned to track them is to bring them to the Lady Lake (or Wildwood) post office and make sure they are manually scanned in. As for delivery .... you are at the mercy of the folks living behind your mail box. If you are concerned about your business get a PO BOX at the actual Post office where actual postal people as opposed to "contract workers" will handle them and have them delivered there rather than to your personal box.

I have one for you. Couple months ago I was shipped a $1500 fully insured item that required my signature and tracking and I never got it yet it said I DID SIGN FOR IT yet I didn't get it. Turns out the mail person signed it FOR ME and put it in a "locker" without letting me know, which according to the Post Office is perfectly legal since he put it in a mail locker (but never gave me the key or notified me).

good luck on speaking with Postmaster. Benn fighting this problem for 2 years. Next door neighbor just last week brought over 5 pieces of mail that was put in her mailbox. Have had 3 shipments, that were signed for, never got them. Went down to Lady Lake P.O. twice to speak with Postmaster and was never available. This past Friday I took tracking receipt showing package was delivered to Lady Lake and clerk took tracking # and said the Postmaster would meet with my carrier and get it straighten out and they would call me. Never had received the call.
