Default Blessing of the Animals Day

10/27/2007 “Blessing of the Animals” Day

Christians everywhere celebrate the feast of St. Francis of Assisi each October by blessing their pets in the spirit of this patron saint of animals and ecology.
On October 27th, bring your beloved pets to Hope Lutheran Church in The Villages on CR 466 from 10-11:30am and receive a blessing and treats for dogs and people too!
Pastor Barry Hunteman will conduct the 10am service. Give prayers to those animals who continue to suffer from cruelty & neglect in our county and throughout the world.
This is an outreach ministry event with donations from local pet stores, including
The Grateful Dog. Donations to the Humane Society/SPCA of Sumter County, Inc. will be accepted with heartfelt appreciation in order for them to continue their volunteer work.
Meet the wonderful adoptable pets from the Humane Society/SPCA of Sumter County, Inc., get a caricature pet portrait or pamper your dog with a canine massage!
Scarves and photos for our furry friends will be donated by Hope Lutheran Church, 250 Avenida Los Angelos, The Villages, FL 32162. Call the church at 352-750-2321 for more info or email the Humane Society/SPCA of Sumter County, Inc. at humane@sum.net or call 352-793-9117.

Thanks for the information. We won't be arriving until Oct. 23 and our humans are totally new to the area and quite useless at directions. Could you tell us where on 466 the Hope Lutheran Church is located? We want to ask our humans to bring us for a blessing.

Here's a map. It shows where Hope Lutheran Church is on 466. http://www.hopelutheraninthevillages.org/location.html Hope you can get to it using your paws, Brutus and Biggins. ;D

Sport gives a bark out to Brutus and Biggins. He likes to bark at the big dogs at Doggie Doo Run Run AS LONG as there is a fence between him and the bigger dogs.

Thanks for the map Taltarzac. Our humans say Hope Lutheran is really close to our Villa in Belvedere. Even though they often get lost, (not using their noses enough), we're sure they can find the Church. We'll also be taking our humans to Doggie Doo Run as soon as we arrive!

Other humans have houses or Villas near or in Belvedere. Hope to see you at Doggie Doo Run Run writes Sport (chihuahua/terrier mix) as dictated to human Taltarzac.
