This is not helping their cause at all it is just making people angry.

Goodbye NFL. Hello Collegiate Football. USMC Vet.

bilcon 09-26-2017 06:39 AM

Really! The whole world is watching and our enemies are laughing! The NFL just made this political.

tboecker 09-26-2017 06:43 AM

Thank You to all the Vets. I will always stand for our flag, anthem and country. I am done with NFL!!!!

I would rather watch girls field hockey. Felt somewhat relieved to not watch the games lately. I do take a peek at the the records and see they have saved me a lot of time. God knows I love Pro Football and look forward to the start each year but this year something else is in the plan. You disrespect the flag or our service members and you are done to me, finished. At least we still have baseball. Remember when this started and nobody really paid attention except to speak of Kaepernick's rites, good job.

Troops Respond To Kaepernick, Athletes Kneeling During National Anthem

Standing for the National Anthem is something old people like me were taught to do as children and we did it cheerfully and willingly and proudly and often with tears in our eyes.. It is a tradition and a rule of sorts and until I die I will do it simply because I love this country. I will use my first amendment rights to speak out against issues I don't agree with at other times, but as long as I can, I will stand for the flag.

It is also an NFL RULE which when violated usually results in big fines. This time it didn't! NFL IS POLITICIZING OUR ANTHEM.

JSR22 09-26-2017 10:31 AM

Will continue to watch the NFL.

SORRY. I had you confused with another person. YOU are a girl person and........You like our Villages restaurants.

Those that believe it's OK to disrespect our nation, or just don't care, will watch.
Those that believe it's disrespect, and care, will not watch.

And there will be very, very many who don't fall into either category.

I remember as the Vietnam war dragged along and events like the Kent State massacrre were occurring some people did not stand during the anthem at ballgames. I stood, but didn't cast much judgement, because that was their silent protest. And I was sick of all the flag burning.

Peaceful Protest

I wonder if the occupant of the White House agrees with this quote from President Kennedy?

“Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable."

That is what makes America great.

Happinow 09-26-2017 04:16 PM

Nope...no way

Never watched sports. Always felt they were over rated and over paid. Needless to say I will never watch NFL......
