It is the large Coleman Federal Correctional complex.

Fenny is adjacent to a gated community called Coleman Federal Correctional Complex (Prison).

The complex has 1,600 acres of space. As of 2010 the complex, the largest correctional facility operated by the BOP, altogether had 7,120 prisoners, and 1,300 employees, making it one of the largest employers in the county. Most prisoners are sentenced for drug-related crimes. Prisoners are male with the exception of those in the female work camp. The prisoners on average have sentences of 10 years.

The complex consists of four facilities:

Federal Correctional Institution, Coleman Low (FCI Coleman Low): a low-security facility.
Federal Correctional Institution, Coleman Medium (FCI Coleman Medium): a medium-security facility with an adjacent satellite prison camp for minimum-security inmates.
United States Penitentiary I, Coleman (USP Coleman I): a high-security facility.
United States Penitentiary II, Coleman (USP Coleman II): a high-security facility.

welcome to the neighborhood.....7120 of your friendliest BAD guys are just waiting to say hello.....LOL....(the devil made me say it)...

It appears that the fenny homes will back right up to the prison fences.....with a little wooded area in between... its the minimal security prisioners that scares me....

somebody must know something because THAT location will be a hard sell for any developer...

Don't be scared. Been here 15 years and Coleman hasn't lost any residents over that time.
Probably more danger in going thru the roundabouts,
where some don't have a clue.

A minimum security prison escapee might sneak into your office and cheat on your taxes for you, but he'd most likely go back on his own because tonight is "Meatloaf Tuesday".

It would make for an interesting Stephen King story to have an apocalyptic event happen whereby all of the guards leave the prison unattended causing a mass escape of all prisoners to prey on the elderly residents of the nearby Villages.
