Good example citing enforcement and observing the law/rules of the road.

Here in TV enforcement is for all practical purposes non-existent (unless you want to change the color of your house).

And observing the law/rules of the road....as many violators as there are following the rules/law.

The above being the main reasons for the damage and reckless driving.

If other drivers irritate you, it is your fault.

At our age, we should have learned that everyone is going to drive the way they want to. They are not going to change their driving behavior just to suit you.

If you encounter a driver doing something you consider to be stupid, you should realize that other drivers will probably do the same thing and you should be ready for it.

Inaccurate interpretation of the original post!!!

There was no intent or even hint of needing anybody to change anything.

And no reference or inference considering anything stupid or not.

Just plain old observation.... and as stated in the original post....

".....mainly for good humor and entertainment...."

I agree, aggressive driving in The Villages is a bizarre concept to me and I’m not a fuddy duddy on the road. These are some very old people in automobiles.

If I'm in the left lane doing the speed limit or even up to 5 mph over, why would you need to pass me? Unless you are speeding????????????? So I'm not wrong, you are

Sorry, but that’s not the case. It is against state law to block faster traffic in the left lane. Yes...even if that faster traffic is exceeding the speed limit.

From the Miami Herald:

“In Florida and 44 other states, obstructing traffic in the left lane is against the law. Most states follow the Uniform Vehicle Code and require drivers to keep right if they are going slower than the prevailing speed of traffic, regardless of the speed limit. ... Same thing applies to the passing lanes in the Keys.“

Florida Statutes Chapter 316 if you’d like to track down the specifics.

Separate discussion entirely. It doesn’t change the law I cited.

Default Gate Colors

If more visible, probably less knocking down. How about iridescent orange and green stripes?
The black and white lettering in the center of each gate is very dull and uses a lot of space.
These gates need to Stand Out. Maybe a light shinning on the gate?
At night, the gates really do not stand out.
A major change Village wide needs implemented.

District Leaders: Ask the drivers who knock down the gates, why they didn't see it....if its visibility then that's the answer. Simple.
